Goatboy here with a Blood Angels Death Company list that “hopping” mad to get their space vampire hands on you!

Today I want to talk about the initial armylist I want to try and get to work with the new Codex: Blood Angels.  I was able to source some of the two new Characters that are coming out in the new Blood Angels box this week and this has me thinking – what can I do with them?  I got the idea of trying to build three bully units and then fit as many Dreadnoughts as I can into it and create a truly Goatboy list of space-vampire nonsense.  I also have another nefarious Blood Angels list idea, but let’s wait for the true points to come out so I can see how many things I can fit into that army.

I was able to find an Astorath and a Lemartes which means I can create two “jump Death Company” units, build up my Dante model, and then see how many BA Dreadnoughts I can fit into the army.  I love the idea of triple Bully jump units, that can easily hop around the table and jump on the enemy as needed quickly.

We are going to use the current printed Codex:Blood Angels points for now – which again might change if we get new points this weekend. I’ll update the list as needed. Here’s the key units the army list is based around:

Death Company Marines w/Jump Packs – X 10
Eviserators X 2
Powerfist X 1
Inferno Pistol/Powerfist X 2
Pts: 230

Sanguinary Guard X 6
Inferno Pistol
Pts: 300

As you can see this should give me a nice amount of punch with 3 units of these joined by their Special characters.  I am hoping points go down on some of these but let’s put it all together and see what fits.

Sanguinary Guard X 6 – Inferno Pistol – 300pts

This sits at 1220 points which leaves me 780 to go get Dreadnoughts with.  I expect the regular Marine ones to stay the same. While I would love the Death Company ones. I don’t know if those points are going to make it worth it.  Thus we’ll just go with what works right now.

Ballistus Dreadnought – 140pts

Brutalis Dreadnought – 160pts
Brutalis Dreadnought – 160pts

This leaves me with 180 points currently and I am thinking I need some tricks to help do some tricky mission stuff.  Some options to help push opponents back a bit, give the ability to move up and down, and just be a pain in the butt.  Looking through my piles of nonsense it has me think – I should bring in some of the new Marine Scouts.

Scouts X 5 – 65pts
Scouts X 5 – 65pts

This leaves me at 50 points left which isn’t to bad and if we get nicer points then I might be able to fit something else into this hot mess.  Let me put it all together so you can see it and understand the nonsense I want to do.

Blood Angels “Triple Jump Death Company” Tactics

Using the list is pretty simple. It has enough bodies, some long ranged fire power, movement tricks, and just damage potential in three bully units and two bully dreadnoughts.  YOu will have a lot of options for brute force, backed up by high mobility, and duplicate units to let you deal with casualties. Will it work?  Who knows?  It’s going to be a few months before we get a chance to really play the new Blood Angels in an event as we wait on new models to get here, get built, and get painted.

For Sanguinius!
