Atomic Mass Games updated the Base Sizes, Affiliations, FAQs. And there is a new Banned and Restricted list for Marvel: Crisis Protocol.

The balancing act for game design is a challenge on a good day and on a bad day, well, that’s a whole other ball of wax. As more and more things get released there’s always going to be balancing passes needed. That’s what we’re seeing from AMG with the latest updates for Marvel: Crisis Protocol.

We have updated some of our documents for Marvel: Crisis Protocol to reflect new releases. Find the Base Sizes, Affiliation, and FAQ Documents here: https://www.atomicmassgames.com/mcp-rules/ and the Challenger and Banned & Restricted Documents here: https://www.atomicmassgames.com/mcp-op/

The Banned & Restricted List

Let’s start off with the short list of things that fall under the Banned and Restricted list. Fortunately, no characters were added to this document — it’s mostly just Team Tactic Cards…for now.

So a couple of things to note. This is for Timeline: Standard Events — that’s your typical competitive event for MCP. What’s the difference between Restricted and Banned? Restricted is a list of cards that you can only two from. So, if I wanted to take the Crisis Card: Research Station Attacked! I could only take one other card from this list of cards. Note that the blue ones are the cards that were most recently added, too.

Now, if you’re looking for a complete list of cards you can use for a Timeline: Standard Event, you can find all of those under their Challenger Events section Here. And, because I couldn’t find a list of these on their website other than cross-referencing that complete list, here’s the list of cards that were removed from rotation during the Ministravaganza 2024:

The cards in Yellow got replaced by the following cards:

Deception was replaced by Stolen Identity

X-Ceptional Healing was replaced by Instant Recovery

One more note is that the full list DOES include Warpath — and since the full list came out on September 27, 2024, it’s overwriting the card Rotation from the Ministravaganza (as far as I can tell).

If you want to see the Errata’d Team Tactic Cards those can be found here as well.

FAQs And Errata

As far as the current FAQ and Errata (which you can download here) there really wasn’t that much changed from the previous version. Just a typo fix on Angel and Archangel:

Finally, the base size document has all the new characters added to it as well. Which in this case is just Angel, Archangel, and Apocalypse.

So those are all the most recent changes for the competitive scene in Marvel: Crisis Protocol. Be sure to check your lists (ie, your Roster, Team Tactic Cards, and Crisis Cards) against the Timeline: Standard events to ensure you don’t bring outdated cards…
