Bad Batch fans, this one’s for you! “Crosshair” is bringing his Elite Squad to the Star Wars: Shatterpoint tabletop with this Squad Pack!

It can really feel terrible to be betrayed. Think of how the Bad Batch must of felt to know that one of their own was the one leading the group to take them out. But how do you think “Crosshair” would have felt knowing that his former friends and allies had turned against him? Does that make him a sympathetic villain to Bad Batch fans? I think it certainly makes for a more interesting character.

And now you’ll get to take that to the tabletop with the new Good Soldiers Follow Orders Squad Pack! Star Wars: Shatterpoint might not shed any light on the internal conflict that “Crosshair” could be going through, it does give you the chance to bring this Elite Squad of Troopers to the game in a cool way.

Thanks to Atomic Mass Games for sending us a review copy of this one! Now, let’s get into the box.

Good Soldiers Follow Orders Squad Pack Unboxing

Kicking things off, once again, it’s everything you’d expect from a Star Wars: Shatterpoint box. We’ve got the baggy for the sprues and a baggy for the cards. And again, this box supports five different languages. We’re going to focus on the English cards but you should know you get a play set of each in the box.

On to the sprues!

We get the standard four-pack of bases with this squad pack. And we also get all four members of this squad on a single sprue. I know it feels common place right now (in 2024) to have all these miniatures on a single sprue. But if you take a step back and think about it this is a vast improvement over what we used to see in the past.

Anyhow, the miniatures themselves are also crisp and well done. The details are impressive on the weapons the armor lines. There’s a lot of subtly built in to these miniatures and I think painting them up is going to be a good exercise in edge highlight.

The Squad Cards

Atomic Mass Games already did a squad overview on the rules side of things. I would highly recommend reading that if you want to take this squad to the tabletop. For completeness sake, I’ll put these photos here. Again, these are the English versions but the pack also contains the other four languages supported.

“Crosshair” comes with a double-sided attack card. For completeness sake I’ve taken a screen shot from AMG to add below.

Being the Primary Unit he’s going to be a source of reliable damage — especially from Range. That 8 die attack is no joke! He might not have the most diverse damage trees but he can really pump out the pain.

ES-04, Firebrand is also rather deadly. Of course, what else would you expect from someone wielding a flame thrower, right? She makes a great Secondary Unit for the Elite Squad.

And finally we have the Elite Squad Troopers. These guys are rather basic…but that’s not a bad thing! They come with the DC-15A Blaster Rifles and are really straight forward. Considering they are kinda the basis for the future of the Empire’s Troopers so they must have been on to something.

The Good Soldiers Follow Orders Squad Pack is slated for release on October 4, 2024. It’s current up for pre-order from Asmodee right now.
