From one-night flings with Tiefling Bards to evil endings that will break your hearts, Baldur’s Gate 3, Patch 7 is here at last.

It is time to start another playthrough folks. Baldur’s Gate 3, Patch 7 is here at last. And with it? A whole meaty chunk of delicious new gameplay to explore. From a fleeting meditation on life and companionship (with a side of murder), to a whole bunch of new endings, twists, and surprises that will enhance the game for years to come, Baldur’s Gate 3, Patch 7 is here at last. This is the one you’ve been waiting for.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 7 – “There are no new companions. There is only death.”

The latest patch adds so much to the game. I think of all the things I’m most excited about: the new Honour Mode improvements and the new Legendary Actions that accompany it. These are massive upgrades to some of the game’s most difficult fights. Bosses and minibosses are basically all the powerful named characters that you have to fight and get new options in combat. These are above and beyond the ones already present in Honour Mode, so if you’ve got one playthrough under your belt, it’s time to saddle up once more for the grim horror of no take-backs.

It truly does change the way you play the game. I don’t recommend it for every playthrough because sometimes you just want to get the thing you’re going for, and you can’t stomach rolling three ‘2s in a row on a d20. But I think everyone should try it at least once. It really does change the game.

And more to the point, you don’t have to punish yourself with Honour Mode to experience the new combat tweaks – they should now be available as options in the Custom difficulty mode.

Of course, there are the new evil endings, with 13 new cinematics:

“Whether you embraced absolute power, carried out your father’s will, played as an Origin character or were generally a menace to society, you’ll find Patch 7 now introduces 13 new cinematics that offer varying conclusions to your most evil playthroughs.”

– Larian Studios

And, of course, Larian can’t help but be Larian and twist the knife just a little if you were hopeful that Alfira would be joining the party.

“We remember clearly stating in Community Update #28 that if you are playing as the Dark Urge, a certain bard would now be able to join the party as a controllable character at camp if there’s an empty slot, TEMPORARILY.

It would seem some of you didn’t pick up what we were putting down.

If you know, you know. And I’m sorry.

And, of course, the new official mod toolkit is here. And that’s saying nothing of all the new fixes and tweaks and other surprises Larian has in store. You can find a full list of what’s change in Baldur’s Gate 3, Patch 7, right here.

What are you going to play in your next playthrough?
