Warhammer 40K: Five Things We Want To See In The Aeldari Codex
The Aeldari Codex is slated for a 2025 release for Warhammer 40,000. Here’s what we’re hoping pops-up in the book!
In case you missed it, we got a GW road map for the future releases. While it was actually pretty light on the details, we at least know the codexes that are coming next year.
Sandwiched between the Astra Militarum and the Imperial Knights are the Aeldari. So what do we want from this book? Here’s a few suggestions…
Ynnari
I’m starting this list off by tossing a stick of Dynamite in the pond. Games Workshop needs to do SOMETHING with the Ynnari. They used bits of the Drukhari and Aeldari army. So should they even be in the Craftworld Aeldari book to begin with? Maybe it wouldn’t work, but maybe it could work. So c’mon GW, get creative with this one and do anything with the Ynnari.
New Aspect Warriors
I really don’t feel like I need to elaborate on this one too much. And GW, take you pick — just please give us some more updated Aspect Warriors. Hopefully they continue the trend of updating them. I feel like the Fire Dragons or Warp Spiders are probably going to get replaced before the Dire Avengers. Swooping Hawks are pretty low priority for me personally. But I don’t really care what order it happens. It would be even better if they all got updated at the same time. But new plastic kits for the Aspect Warriors, please.
New Phoenix Lord(s)
I’m just going to drop this image in here as a reminder that GW has updated two of these two miniatures. They’ve got their pick of which ever one they want to update next — likely to lead the updated Aspect Warriors. That’s what I’d do anyway. Let us know in the comments which one you want to see updated!
Exodites
Dino-riding Eldar! Do I need to say more? Bring on the Exodites already and hit us with that “shock and awe” factor. I dare you Games Workshop. I DARE you…
Harlequins
This might be an unpopular opinion but I’m glad the Harlequins got rolled into the Aeldari book. Their range was too thin to really support being an army by itself. That said, GW could make an army for them if they really wanted to. Do I think that will happen? No. But I wouldn’t be opposed to it. Alternatively pull them out of the book, expand the range with a bunch of new units, and reintroduce them as a different army. Which one do you think is more likely to happen — will they stay as is or will they get a new book and be a solo army?
Of all these changes I really think we’re just going to get a Phoenix Lord update and hopefully a new matching Aspect Warrior to match. But I’m also hoping that GW surprises me with the new book regardless.
What would you want to see done to the Aeldari and their weird vestigial sub-factions like the Ynnari and Harlequins?
