Call upon the powers of the dark gods of chaos because you’re going to need them when the Chaos Kill Teams arrive!

Once again we’re diving into the Chaos Kill Team rules. We’ve got the Non-Space Marine Imperial Kill Team rules and the Aeldari Kill Team rules previews already. Now it’s time for the Heretics to get their due. This one covers the non-Chaos Space Marine forces of Chaos so expect a whole lot less Power Armor and more fanatical faith from these traitors!

via Warhammer Community

Every faction in the new edition of Kill Team has its own Faction RulesEquipment, and a range of Ploys that create a unique playstyle. Throwing caution to the wind and carving demented sigils on every surface within reach, we’ve summoned a tutelary for a glimpse at how these kill teams will enact their masters’ plans.

Once again, we’re just going to focus on the Faction Rules and the operative card that’s previewed. If you want even more info on the Kill Team be sure to check out the link above!

The Blooded

The Blooded are everyone’s favorite Traitor Guardsmen. Personally, I think these models are great and GW really needs to get on that Traitor Guardsmen army…just saying. Anyhow, rules-wise these traitors get themselves some Blooded tokens. These tokens provide a bonus. When you hit a specific threshold (in this case four or more) you’re Blooded units also gain the Gaze of the Gods which is just an even better bonus.

These Blooded Tokens also have some interaction with other faction rules like Bitter Demise that can make them just as valuable on the way off the table if you get what I mean…

Fellgor Ravagers

The Fellgor Ravagers were a bit of a surprise hit in the meta of Kill Team. They got a few tweaks as the season continued to try to bring them more inline with the rest of the Kill Teams. We’ll have to see if GW got the balance right in the new edition for them. In any case, their Faction Rule is Frenzy and, yeah, it’s pretty much what you’d expect!

Frenzy lets the Fellgor Ravagers keep on going. Sure they can’t Pick Up Marker or perform mission actions…but the fact that the enemy has to hit them with crit with the first success OR have a follow up means they are going to be a problem. Good luck to anyone dealing with these beastmen!

Chaos Cult

What’s a Chaos Cult without a little Mutation, amirite?! This is basically a way to “upgrade” your operatives in the middle of the game. The further you are along in the mission, the more you can mutate them. This makes sense when you think about the miniatures in this Kill Team.

Having access to a “surprise” Torment or Mutant could be an invaluable way to score in Kill Team. Or, ya know, just mess up the enemy with a WAAAY beefier target that’s now in their face.

Other Kill Teams?

If you’re looking for the Warpcoven or the Gellerpox they will have rules for free online when the new edition drops. Just be mindful of the “Classified” Kill Teams for Competitive play.
