The Mortal Realms are about to be awash in Skaven, with a new battletome and a whole Vermintide of miniatures.

It is Skaven time for the Age of Sigmar. A whole new Battletome and a Verminhost’s worth of miniatures are releasing for preorders this week. Their great horned rat has risen to sit alongside the other gods of Chaos, and it’s going to be a great time for all. New heroes, new Skaven vehicles, everything you need to bring warp-infused fury to the Mortal Realms.

There’s seriously so many rats. It truly is a rising vermintide. I’m sure it’ll end well for everyone.

Skaven come to Age of Sigmar

It all kicks off with Battletome Skaven. This book not only details the newly ascendant Skaven with new lore and background information, but it also adds new Battle Traits, Battle Formations, Heroic Traits, Artefacts of Power, and Spell, Prayer, and Manifestation Lores. All that plus a host of new units, from characters to troops, even plenty of horrors, as well as rules for the Gnawfeast Clawpack Spearhead, two Armies of Renown, and two Regiments of Renown.

What better way to kick off a new book than with a big new box? A new Spearhead, the Warpspark Clawpack, leads the charge, with 25 miniatures. In it you’ll get a classic Grey Seer, three Stormfiends, a Warp Lightning Cannon, and 20 new Clanrats.

Or try the new head of the Great Grand Gnaw Horde, Vizzik Skour, Prophet of the Great Horned Rat. Vizzik ushered in the new era with the Vermindoom, and now he’s ready to lead the followers of the new god to ravenous glory.

Or Krittok Foulblade, who contends with his daemon-blade Doomfang, fitting off foes at the expense of getting one step closer to releasing the Daemon within.

The Arch-Warlock is a more generic leader for the Skavens. They master technology and sorcery in the same breath, and with crackling stormcage halberds, lay into their foes.

The Warlock Galvaneer pushes Skaven technology to its limits, taking warpvolt obliterators into for to destroy enemies or supercharge the weapon batteries of their allies.

Weapon batteries like the Warpspark Weapon Battery, which are heavy weapons teams that can beb equipped with Warpvolt Scourgers, Ratling Guns, or Warpfire Throwers.

There’s also the Master Moulders, who lead the Clans Moulder and also modify living beings, creating horrors of stitched flesh and writhing sinew.

A perfect example of this is the Brood Terror. These twisted amalgamations of rats big and small are a Master Moulder grafted into a larger beast. With two heads and a warpflame scourger, these prove to be the final word in Moulder “technologies”.

The Acolyte Globadiers, meanwhile, use poisoned wind globes which choke out the enemies with the warpstone-tainted gas cpmtaomed wotjom/

Or tear through reality itself with the Warp-Grinder. This lets Skaven tunnel into the middle of a fight and can rip through enemies who can’t even break the fabric of reality.

Overwhelm your enemies with the Stormvermin. These rats devour the brood-mates and come to be the most brutal warriors in the Skaven armies.

Meanwhile Doom Flayers ride the Skryre war-engines into the fronts. They tear through enemy lines wherever they are.

And finally, there are so many more Skaven reinforcments, all originally available only in the Skaventide boxed set, now available on their own.

All this, coming next week!
