Age of Sigmar: Stormcast Eternal’s New Wave Up Close
The Stormcast Eternals have a new wave of reinforcements and we’re taking a closer look at them up close for the Age of Sigmar!
We got the new wave of Stormcast Eternals in the studio and it’s a big batch of miniatures. They are currently up for Pre-order and are expect to arrive in stores on the 26th of October. For now, let’s get in there and see these new miniature kits up close!
Stormcast Eternals Next Wave
Stormreach Portal
Kicking things off, we’ve got the new Stormreach Portal. This totally-not-a-webway Portal is a new Stormcast Eternal terrain piece. It can launch units across the board but also is quite eye catching! This is one of those pieces that of Terrain I wouldn’t mind adding to my own collection just to have on the tabletop. Perhaps as an objective to fight over or even just a big piece to change up the board.
Stormstrike Palladors
This unit is really a bit of an update to the exisiting Palladors. They are the “light cavalry” of the Stormcast Eternals and are relatively quick on the battlefield. You get an assortment of options for them with a banner as well as javelins instead of swords. Personally, I like the new look of this unit vs the old one as their mounts seem a bit beefier. But, if you had the old models, I wouldn’t stress out about swapping them.
Lord Relictor
The Lord-Relictor has a new model and it’s got an optional hood vs un-hooded head. Personally, I think this miniature does look better than the old version but again, if I had an older version I wouldn’t be super quick to replace it. And I’m also getting major 40k Chaplain vibes from this guy and I don’t think I’m alone.
Reclusians
The Reclusians were first introduced with the Skaventide box but this is their solo release box. It’s worth noting that this is a multipart plastic kit that allows you to build them with axes or maxes as well. Here we opted for the big, two-handed mace but you can also go with axes and shields or double axes, too.
The box also has a pair of Memorians that carry relics as well.
Iridan The Witness
In terms of big, center-piece models it doesn’t get much larger than Iridan the Witness for this release. Riding atop a massive Morrgryph they are ready to deliver swift destruction to their enemies — or any Stormcast Eternal that might have seen one too many re-forgings. This is quite a stunning miniature and also can be alternatively assembled as a Lord-Vigilant on Morrgryph as well.
Lord-Celestant
The Lord-Celestant miniature is an interesting one just in terms of the sheer number of options for them. The mini has a bunch of different weapons you an choose to mix-and-match with. THere’s also various heads with and without helmets, too. Customize this miniature to your heart’s content for the leader you want for your forces.
Tornus The Redeemed
Leading the charge with flaming wings we have Tornus the Redeemed. He’s got quite the backstory but personally, I think his model takes the cake. I’ve made the comparison to a particular Blood Angel miniature and I think this one has the advantage. Also, I appreciate that GW is getting more and more creative with those “tactical rocks” these floating miniatures are posed with. Additionally, Tornus can also be assembled as a Knight-Azyros…which, I’ll be honest, I think is just a head swap.
