The Lands of RuneQuest: Dragon Pass is a new book from Chaosium that marks a return to one of the most mythic fantasy settings ever developed.

For a certain kind of gamer, the words “Dragon Pass” will conjure up a whole other era. Back before the Call of Cthulhu, before the knights of Pendragon rode boldly across Camelot, there was the world of Glorantha. Created by gaming legend Greg Stafford, Glorantha was a world originally developed and explored in the 1975 board game White Bear and Red Moon.

White Bear and Red Moon was a fantasy wargame/board game that took place on the world of Glorantha. A land where the mighty Lunar Empire warred with the barbarian nation of Sartar. When Stafford couldn’t get a publisher to bite on this game that was as much a depiction of a world as it was a wargame, he started his own company, The Chaosium. The rest is history. And a lot of editions of RuneQuest.

And now, Chaosium returns once more to the realm of Dragon Pass with a new book. Lands of RuneQuest: Dragon Pass, that promises “bronze age fantasy” and mythic heroes.

Lands of RuneQuest: Dragon Pass – Chaosium’s Bronze Age Fantasy Book

This book is packed with new options for player characters and new setting information for DMs. It’s a return to the Dragon Pass that cemented a love for Glorantha and RuneQuest in many gamers’ hearts. One of the first indie cRPGs that people wouldn’t shut up about was Kings of Dragon Pass. It explored the mythic stories of Dragon Pass as you led your people through various struggles.

And now, Lands of Dragon Pass promises new Homelands, new occupations, and more. Take a look!

Lands of RuneQuest: Dragon Pass includes a detailed history, from the fabled God Time to the occupation by the mighty Lunar Empire. You’ll also find information on villages, towns, cities, ruins, and places of interest throughout Dragon Pass—perfect for running a sandbox-style RuneQuest campaign.

New and expanded Homelands for your RuneQuest adventurer, including Sartar, Esrolia, Lunar Tarsh, the Grazelands, Wintertop, and the Wilds. Additional guidelines for character creation, including new occupations and backgrounds for your RuneQuest adventurer.”
