Goatboy’s Grimdark Armylist – “CSM Herohammer”
Goatboy here with a surprising character-heavy CSM list that went 10-0 to win the Warhammer 40K London GT! Take a look at “CSM Herohammer”.
Goatboy here with an army list from this past week that won the London GT – an 813 player, 10 round event run overseas. This is an insanely huge even and Liam Vsl – probably one of the best 40K players around, went 10-0 (WOW!!!) with this very interesting Veterans of the Long War build. It is an interesting Chaos Space Marine list full of powerful characters, and powerful unit interactions. It’s just amazing he beat so many people while playing a crap ton of Warhammer 40K back to back.
Check his winning list out. It has just about every character but Abaddon in this list. There are so many interesting utility interactions that can bring a ton of Fights First, bonuses to units, regrowing ability, and other fun things. Cypher can just be a pain in the butt if he is hiding and causing issues with CP usage for armies and thus blunting turns and making players rethink how they care coming in.

CSM Herohammer Tactics
As you can see this army has some of the hits seen in CSM lately – Predator Destructors, Obliterators, Chosen units, and even some fun Noise Marines to round things out. This army is all just about efficient trades, options to do what you need, and powerful shooting interactions backed up by good stratagems and just good utility. It is a pretty awesome list and it is great to see someone win with such a unique build from a “bad” detachment.
