Goatboy’s Grimdark Armylist – Leagues of Votann “Dual-hammer” Goes 8-0
Goatboy here with this week’s armylist. Take a look at a battle hardened Leagues of Votann “Dual-hammer” list that went 8-0 to victory!
This was an armylist that won one of the biggest events of the weekend – the Hanseatic Alliance Open 2024 – an 179-player, 8-round Supermajor in Oldenburg, NDS, Deutschland. This was piloted by a Tim Schneider who went 8-0 with this 2 times the fun style list that almost ran just two copies of each choice. A dual hammer style list with a bunch of little utility options to allow it to come in, punch hard, and wreck the game.

Leagues of Votann “Dual-hammer” Tactics
This is a lean and mean Votann list. Everything in the army is redundant, everything is efficient, and the army can just pour out damage as needed. It also isn’t afraid of things getting close as it can vomit out some Cthonian Beserks to easily mop up anyone that gets too close. It is a rough little list and showcases how this new environment of competitive 40k is pretty balanced. Recently we are seeing a ton of armies getting towards the top of the winner’s circle and throwing down. I hope we get a few rules tweaks in the coming months as well as a nice refresh with Blood Angels finally getting some real points to help shake things up a bit.
Oh and that Death Watch detachment coming to get everyone happy about their black clad Space Marines that are not Black Templars. I can’t wait to see the new codexes next year as well and these months can’t move fast enough for me.
