Heroes of Barcadia: Heroes for Hire combines your two favorite things: RPG adventures and drinking! Time to get silly!
Often, drinking games are fairly straightforward. Flip the cup, drink the beer. Throw the ball, drink the beer. Draw a card, drink the beer. There must be a better way!
For fans of dungeon crawling RPGs, the answer is Heroes of Barcadia! And the new Heroes of Hire expansion adds even more heroes and powers to the game.
Heroes of Barcadia Overview
While Heroes of Barcadia is certainly more advanced than your average drinking game, it rightfully doesn’t get too in the weeds with overly complicated mechanics. This isn’t Gloomhaven or anything. You can be set up and ready to play in mere minutes.
Each player controls a character, not represented by a miniature, but by a pint glass. Then players each grab a stack of randomly drawn room tiles and deal them out, face down, however they’d like. Each player gets 3 loot cards and you’re ready to play!
Explore the dungeon, fight monsters, and battle bosses! Every victory offers new loot or powers. But as players take damage, they drink from their glass. Once a character has three power-ups, they can face off against the Drink Guardian. The first player to defeat the Guardian wins!

Each Heroes of Barcadia: Heroes for Hire character box adds a new hero to the base game, and plenty of other goodies as well. Because each hero has their own set of loot cards, power cards, and signature move, each one will change the game in new ways.
But perhaps most importantly to any drinking game, the components are all entirely waterproof! No worrying about spilled drinks once you start getting into more rounds later into the night.
