Marvel: Crisis Protocol has introduced a few space based characters. So how about we dive into affiliations that could really open things up.

Today I want to chat about a few affiliations that could be added to Marvel: Crisis Protocol in the future. Being space based affiliations, they don’t have a ton of overlap with the existing characters so they would need a TON of new ones added. Which is why I wanted to go into them! So let’s get into these space based affiliations that I want to see in the game!

Starjammers

Starjammers (Trade Paperback), Marvel Comics

The Starjammers are basically space pirates. They are led by Corsair (aka Christopher Summers), well depending on the time period. Anyhow, they mostly run around space doing pirate things. However, they have had a lot of interactions with X-Men and also the Shi’ar Empire (more on them below). They have an interesting roster of characters regardless and while they do have a little overlap with the X-Men this could be a cool chance to add some pretty funky characters to the game.

Kree/Skrulls

Okay, I fully admit that combining these two is a bit of a cop-out. If you’re going to have the Kree, you kind of need the Skrulls. And you don’t really get the Skrulls without Super-Skrull. And you don’t get Super-Skrull without the Fantastic Four. Having said all that… I think both of these affiliations could be added in some form or fashion.

We’ve already got a couple of Kree-characters running around. But I think if we did get either (or both) of these affiliations then AMG would need to have Grunts. There’s also a few key characters they could add, too. Most of all, I would hope that AMG would make Skrull-versions of some of the most prominent characters. That would be a really cool way to fill out their rosters.

Shi’ar Empire

As mentioned above the Shi’ar Empire have interacted with the Starjammers and also the X-Men. But I think they also open up some interesting character options to the game. We’re already getting Gladiator soon enough.

And I mean the Crisis Pack is going to be the War of Kings. I feel like this is kind of a big deal for the Shi’ar to be involved with. Still, there’s a lot of neat characters like Lilandra, Deathbird, and D’Ken. Oh and they are also kind of a big part of that whole Phoenix Saga thing…

Brood

I’m a little hesitant to include this affiliation as I’m not quite sure how the Brood would be added to the game. They are also rather terrifying for a myriad of reasons. And I’m not even going to get into their backstory. So why did I even bother to add them to this list where there’s lots of other options? Two words: Space Whales.

More accurately known as Acanti, these “Space Whales” are used by the Brood to travel around. Often times these Acanti are unwilling hosts to them. Personally, I think it would be amazing to get an Acanti terrain set with some sort of “horde mode” Ultimate Encounter vs the Brood. That would be intense!

Eternals

Soooo I know the Eternals MCU movie didn’t exactly blow-up the box office and that particular branch of the franchise has stalled a bit. But I still think there’s room for these characters in Marvel: Crisis Protocol. The Eternals also have quite the tie-in to the Celestials and also opens the door to Deviants. They’ve even battled with Apocalypse in the distant past, too!

Given the fact that there are more than a handful of Eternals if they were all introduced into MCP that would be more than enough characters for a full affiliation. But they might be a tad high on the threat level…

There are loads more Cosmic empires in Marvel. What space based factions would you like to see added?
