A new Starfinder 2E Playtest Adventure, Empires Devoured, shows off the upcoming system at 10th level and beyond.

In Starfinder 2E’s ongoing playtest, the new rules are really taking off. In fact, they’ve not just taken off, they’ve broken orbit and are preparing for FTL jumps. You can see them in action for yourself in a new, 10th level playtest adventure.

Titled Empires Devoured, the new adventure shows off higher-level Starfinder. This provides an opportunity for both players and GMs to try out some of the tougher, tenth-level toys.

Starfinder 2E: Empires Devoured Playtest

First up, a quick overview of the adventure itself. It’s a clash between two ancient empires with a long history of conflict:

“The Azlanti Star Empire and Veskarium—two interstellar powers with a long history of conquest and war—are set to sign a historic accord on the distant settlement of Atuity. A group of heroes attend the peace talks on behalf of the Pact Worlds, navigating civil unrest and negotiations to make sure everything goes as planned. When a surprise attack interrupts the diplomatic proceedings, the heroes must fight back against rogue Azlanti forces and mysterious saboteurs to protect Atuity (and the entire Adalawe system) from the destructive schemes of Devourer cultists who are preparing to activate a weapon of cosmic destruction.”

But it’s more than just the conflict. This adventure is an opportunity for GMs to take some of the higher-level toys out for a spin. There are updated versions of classic monsters, as well as all new threats.

Over the course of the adventure, players take part in galactic history. They’ll also have the opportunity to give Paizo some much-needed feedback about the new ruleset, which is still in development. So if you’re hoping to take Starfinder for a spin, Empires Devoured gives you a satisfying ride.
