This week’s 5E compatible offerings include a cursed mansion, a magical new setting, and ocean-faring Orcs.
It’s time to roll the dice on new releases! Come check out this week’s batch of brand-new 5E compatible tabletop role-playing games.
Comedic Classes: Pugilist
Welcome to the gritty and unpredictable world of the Pugilist, where fists speak louder than spells, and anything can become a weapon. This is the domain of the bare-knuckled brawler, the tavern-born warrior who relies on quick reflexes, devastating punches, and the ability to turn everyday objects into tools of destruction. Chairs, bottles, and even loaves of bread become deadly in the hands of a skilled Pugilist.
As a Pugilist, you aren’t weighed down by armor or flashy weapons—you rely on your raw physicality and street-smart ingenuity. Whether you’re throwing punches in a dark alley or brawling in a rowdy tavern, you excel in chaotic environments where quick thinking and faster fists are your best allies. And when the fight gets tough, you’ll dive into your surroundings, using anything within reach to maintain your edge.
So roll up your sleeves, tighten your fists, and step into the ring. Every tavern is an arena, every fight a test of your wits and strength. In the unpredictable world of the Pugilist, the only rule is to win, no matter how creative you have to get!
The Curse of Frostwood Mansion
Snowhaven Village, renowned for its winter festivities, is often called the heart of the South. The snow-covered streets wind between the charming village houses. The smell of wood smoke, mulled wine and hot chocolate hangs in the air.
Something is amiss and you have been asked for help by Elyndra Frostwind, the ice witch of the South. She tells you that usually, she can maintain the perfect level of cold for the town’s winter festivities. But, this year something is disrupting her magic and creating deadly cold in the vicinity.
Now you must venture to Frostwood Mansion to solve the mystery and restore winter. But the path ahead is fraught with icy encounters, dangerous foes and unwieldy magic. Can you unravel the mystery and save the village from a fate of endless cold before it’s too late?
Dretelia Campaign Setting
Dretelia is a new campaign setting, based on a world of fantastic but dysfunctional energies. On the planet’s surface, magic must be stabilized and carefully controlled or face disaster. Like a muscle, magic cannot be overworked or underused without consequence. Factions clash over the right path towards magical balance, titanic behemoths roam the verdant landscape, and fantastical cities ascend with magical energy drawn from the very atmosphere. In the depths beneath the surface, these actions weaken the world’s interior like an illness as the planet’s imbalance turns into malaise. Yet, Dretelia keeps moving forward, regardless of what fate lies ahead.
Into Castle Duckenstein
Into Castle Duckenstein is the perfect adventure for a Halloween session, or any horror game you might be running for spooky season. It will fit perfectly in any campaign setting you’re using.
This module is designed for characters levels 3-5. As with my other Halloween 5e adventure Phandalin After Dark, I want to note that a party of only level 3s may have a harder time, and a party of all 5s may find it easy. Either a range of levels or a complete group of level 4 PCs will hit the sweet spot in difficulty.
Deep in the eastern marshes, on a rare parcel of dry land surrounded by brackish water, sits Castle Duckenstein. Doctor Beaktor Duckenstein, the castle’s eponymous owner, is known to be somewhat of a quack, a mad scientist, and a dangerous one at that.
The village of Quackstead is regrettably close to the castle. The residents of Quackstead do their best not to attract the doctor’s attention, for they know from unfortunate experience that only brings tragedy and grief. They are all too familiar with the doctor’s so-called “research” and horrific “experiments. Unfortunately for them, Duckenstein has once again set his sights on the town, as he seeks to expand his family of mismatched miscreants.
Sea Orc
It’s a brave new world for orcs as a species. No longer relegated to low level dungeon crawls, they are now seated at the table of the great races, and their god has granted them adaptability. One of the environments they’ve found to suit them is the “churning seas,” and that’s where we begin with our first subspecies of orc: the sea orc. Sailors, pirates, kings, and priests, their realm is nothing like your grandfather’s orcs. Plenty of lore and flavor for your 5e or 5e24 tabletop campaign! Also includes the College of Battle Hymns Bard subclass.
