Titmouse is a studio best known for making animated shows like The Venture Bros. and Critical Role, but soon they’ll have their own RPG.

Not long ago, Titmouse, the animation studio most recently known for Critical Role: The Legend of Vox Machina announced its first foray into the world of tabletop RPGs. And, given the title of their first project, Drunkards, Druggies, & Delinquents or DD&D, it seems like that Vox Machina effect has rubbed off, at least a little. Well now, the BackerKit for DD&D is live. With it, your chance to get in on this new “party roleplaying game” that is meant to be fast-paced, fun, and packed full of vice and adult humor.

Drunkards, Druggies, & Delinquents – On BackerKit Now

Okay real quick though, “adult humor” is just code for drugs and alcohol, which, if TV and movies have taught me anything are two substances present at every single high school party that happens when someone’s parents are out of town. Yes, legally you can’t drink until you’re 21 or smoke drug cigarettes (if they’re legal in your area) until you’re at least 18. But entertainment is full of underage, well, everything.

So it’s hard to define what “adult humor” really is—maybe it’s jokes about insurance policies, or like getting your taxes done on time. Or maybe the real adult humor is Dad jokes. After all, what is more adult of a situation than saying “Hi Hungry, I’m Dad, are you feeling thirsty? That’s strange because it’s Friday” directly into the face of a beleaguered child?

So DD&D is more like cool teen humor. But it’s also a tabletop roleplaying game that combines all the dice and combat and action with an actual drinking game. It is literally as beer and pretzels as you can get with an RPG because there’s actual beer (or whatever substance you prefer) involved. And I’m not hyperbolic, that’s the rules:

“Basically, you just roll dice, fight monsters, and drink. Instead of taking damage, you take sips (or puffs, or nibbles on your favorite edible…). There’s room for sober friends to play too. Chug a bottled water, eat sour candy, or do as et of chin-ups. Everyone can enjoy the incredible artwork, twisted characters, and absurd bestiary of Monsters that make Drunkards, Druggies, and Delinquents a truly one-of-a-kind experience.”

Gameplay revolves around the d12, which is truly enjoying its time in the sun. You’ll only need to role one, and you won’t need to bother with consulting a book during play—all the classes, items, equipment, and monsters are included on cards in this boxed set. So you really can just lose yourself in the fun of the drinking/roleplaying game.

As you might expect, all the classes are boozed up versions of the normal fantasy fare—for instance, theres the Beerbarian. Or the Druid of the Flower (the cannabis flower, if you know what I mean), and presumably all of the classes get the treatment, except for the Bard, which is, like, already there, man.

Along the way, you’ll fight monsters like the Hangover Mummy, the Stoned Petrifier, and the Spliff Queen. All gorgeously illustrated with trippy, kind of alt-zine style art from a laundry list of talented artists

The campaign is already wildly successful, raising more than triple their starting goal in the first 24 hours—now the race is on to see just how high this campaign can get (in terms of funds raised and not anything else). If you’re looking for a boozy good time, or to get high with your friends—and remember, only winners do drugs—then you’ll want to check out Drunkards, Druggies, & Delinquents.
