Warhammer 40K: Death Korps of Krieg Miniatures We Need
We know that Games Workshop is bringing a Death Korps of Krieg update. But what miniatures should get some love?
In case you didn’t know the Death Korps of Krieg were teased by GW as part of their plans for when the Astra Militarum get a new book in 2025. But the one thing that’s been bugging me is what exactly are they going to do to them? Here’s a few options we hope the Death Korps get with new plastic kits.
Death Korps of Krieg Heavy Weapon Teams
This one seems like a no-brainer. There are already Cadian heavy weapon teams and it would make a lot of sense if the Death Korps got their versions with the new book. And there’s loads of weapon options they can add. Autocannons, Heavy Stubbers, Lascannons, Heavy Bolters, and more.
Death Korps of Krieg Field Ordnance Battery
I’m only including this option because I think they make for such great dioramas-as-unit miniatures. I would love to see some Death Korps minis with these weapons platforms — and if GW could “Death Korps” them up a bit that would be even better.
Death Korps Upgrades Sprues
I’m not 100% sure how GW plans on extending the Death Korps range but I hope they have plans to create an upgrade sprue for them similar to the Cadian version. This kit has loads of cool bits and a Death Korps version seems like a winner to me.
Death Korps of Krieg Command Squad
This one also seems mandatory. I feel like if you’re going to build an Astra Militarum army, even if it’s Death Korps of Krieg, you must have a Command Squad for them…right?
Death Korps of Krieg Death Riders
Hey, if we got some Attilan Rough Riders then why can’t we get the Death Korps of Krieg Death Riders, too? This seems like another obvious unit to slot in for their expansion.
New Death Korps of Krieg Chimera
I don’t know what GW could do to the classic Chimera kit but I feel like the Death Korps would have something on this kit to spruce it up and make it “of Krieg” on the tabletop. Maybe GW will have a more generic Death Korps of Krieg Vehicle Upgrade Accessory kit…but this could be a good time to update the Chimera or even create a new transport for them.
The Death Korps of Krieg are a unique looking take on the Astra Militarum. It’s going to be interesting to see what sorts of updates and new units GW makes for them. While I think the Death Korps will have some units that are 1:1 replacements for other Astra Militarum units, I really hope we get some other unique units for them specifically.
What could those options be? That’s the question! What unique squads, tanks, or weapon systems do the Death Korps of Krieg use compared to the rest of the Astra Militarum? What could GW invent for them to make the Death Korps stand out from Cadians. We’ll have to wait until 2025 to find out.
