Are you curious to see the new edition of Warhammer: Underworlds in action? Games Workshop has you covered.

If you didn’t know a new edition of Warhammer: Underworlds is on the way. There are some pretty important changes heading to the game. So far, I’ve liked the previews we’ve seen in action and I think the game is going in a good direction overall. But that was all based on theory. How does it play out in practice? That’s what Games Workshop wants you to see for yourself.

“This is the first time you get to see a game of the new edition. WarhammerTV presenters Nick and Alex are at the table drawing cards and chucking dice, while Ed has his eyes on the chat to answer as many of your questions about the new edition as possible.”

Warhammer: Underworlds – Embergard Gameplay

As mentioned above there are lots of changes to the game but there’s enough of the same “DNA” from the previous edition that swapping over shouldn’t be that difficult. However, this new edition does mean it’s a great time to dive into the game itself. With the new core set coming there’s also a host of updates to the miniature range, too.

If you’re looking for a game that’s a bit shorter on the time commitment but still has a lot of tactical gameplay then Underworlds is looking very promising. Personally, I do like the change to crits and the card draw mechanics. Being able to Focus to re-draw cards certainly helps with those “feels bad” hands you might find yourself stumble into.

As for crits, I like that they no longer completely nullify all the other successes but instead can now trigger other effects.

Anyhow, if you’ve got a chance to watch the gameplay above note that it’s a longer video. That’s because the team at WarCom is taking time to answer questions and go over things so it’s an informative video, too.

Embergard is coming soon and it’s the new edition’s core set. If you’re wanting to jump into Warhammer: Underworlds this is where you can start fresh!
