There’s four battleforce boxes coming this holiday season to Warhammer: Age of Sigmar. Time to do the math with a pricing breakdown.

Yesterday we tackled the 40k side of things. Now we we’re taking on the AoS battleforce boxes to figure out what sort of savings each one is providing. What’s great about these forces is that they are playable right out of the box. Plus you can slot in their respective Vanguard box and have an army ready to rock and roll (dice). But that’s not the focus. Today, we’re assessing the value of these boxes based purely on the dollar amount of the kits inside. So let’s dive in.

Ironjawz Battleforce: Wrekkamob

Tuskboss on Maw-grunta $80

6x Weirdbrute Wrekkaz $120

20x Ardboyz $125

Total Individual MSRP: $325

Total Savings: $85

Maggotkin of Nurgle: Shudderblight Cyst

Harbinger of Decay $60

10x Rotmire Creed $62.50

4x Pusgoyle Blightlords $158

Total Individual MSRP: $343

Total Savings: $103

As you can see from the math above these are all relatively good deals. The Cities of Sigmar battleforces clocks in at the “highest value” at $104 in savings while the Ironjawz battleforce is the “lowest value” at $85. Still, that box is pretty tempting considering everything inside of it. I really can’t see a terrible pick of the lot to be fair. Also considering that some of these miniatures are online only these battleforce boxes might be the best way to get your hands on them. The Harbinger of Decay is still one of the best looking Chaos Miniatures GW has ever made!

If I was in the market for a new AoS army this set of battleforces is a good starting point. Personally, I would probably pick up the Ironjaws one if I had to choose. I already have a Chaos Army and two Death armies so those are out. And I’ve never really been interested in Cities of Sigmar. So yeah, it would be Ironjawz all the way.

The Tuskboss is a CRAZY model…maybe I AM in the market for a new army…
