The new Slaves to Darkness Battletome is coming and with it two new Regiments of Renown are on the way to Warhammer: Age of Sigmar!

Games Workshop is showcasing more rules from the upcoming Chaos Battletome. We’ve got some juicy new rules to chew on with a Regiment of Renown as well as Be’lakor’s legion to learn about. Time to get this chaos party started!

Two new Regiments of Renown and an Army of Renown in Battletome: Slaves to Darkness provide ample opportunity to unite the diverse legions of Chaos. Take Lord Skaldior’s Chosen: loyal to the Everchosen, they rove the lands doing his bidding while fighting alongside the faithful of Khorne, Nurgle, Slaanesh, Tzeentch, and even the forces of The Great Horned Rat.

Regiment of Renowned

First up we have Lord Skaldior’s Chosen. This is a Regiment of Renown you can take with your non-Slaves to Darkness Chaos forces. If you have this batch of Chaos Warriors, it’s worth a look. Their Ironclad Despoilers rule make them effective at both taking and holding objectives. On offense, they get a +1 to wound when they are contesting an objective you don’t control. On defense, they get a +1 to save rolls when contesting an objective you do control.

Considering you get a mounted Chaos Lord, 5 Chaos Knights, and 10 Chaos Warriors, it’s not a bad brick of miniatures to bring. I think this is nice group to add if you’re army is looking for some durable objective fighters.

Up next we have the Godmarked Ascendant. This is a way for non-Slaves to Darkness Chaos armies to get a Daemon Prince added to their army. The Daemon Prince also gains the keyword of the army they are joining. This can open up some nice bonuses and it gives chaos players a good reason to bring one with their armies. It’s worth noting that Skaven don’t get a benefit…so maybe not ALL the Chaos armies.

Legion of the First Prince

Be’lakor is back and this time he’s got some more rules to bring to bare with his own Army of Renown. Apparently, he’s bringing the Daemonic Hordes to play.

“Always in the shadows, Be’lakor has now amassed enough power to play his own game with the Ruinous Powers. His Legion of the First Prince has a wide roster, including eight daemon units (which have warscrolls in the battletome): Bloodletters, Bloodcrushers, Screamers and Flamers of Tzeentch, Plaguebearers, Beasts of Nurgle, Fiends and Hellflayers.”

That’s a pretty gnarly group of daemons. It’s also interesting GW put their warscrolls in the Battletome, too. But these extra daemons aren’t the only thing Be’lakor is bringing to the tabletop.

These abilities really make Be’lakor hard to take out when he’s got daemon units around. It also makes it so those same units can really take an objective when the time comes. And he wouldn’t be Be’lakor without some nasty spell lores of his own either.

Shroud in Darkness adds some nice movement as well as prevents a unit from being visible to the enemy. That seems like a very Be’lakor thing to do. However, Dark Cantrip is just pure damage. It’s also an unlimited spell. Watch out for any cabals of Chaos Sorcerers around the tabletop when this is an option…

The new Battletome for the Slaves to Darkness is coming soon!
