Closer Look at ‘HeroQuest: First Light’, A Stepping Stone Into RPG Board Games
HeroQuest: First Light is designed to be a beginner friendly way to get into the vast and magical world of Heroquest!
Dungeon crawling board games are great. There’s a reason I won’t shut up about them. But, admittedly, they can be a little daunting for the newer gamers out there. Especially the young’ins. Thankfully now, we have HeroQuest: First Light, a beginner friendly version of HeroQuest, that is perfect for getting started with RPG dungeon crawling board games.
HeroQuest: First Light Overview
HeroQuest: First Light is a stand-alone game that has a beginner-friendly rulebook which is streamlined for new players. The simplified rules make it easier than ever to get started. Players can play in the classic format, with one player as the game master and the rest as heroes. However, thanks to the companion app, players can now all play as heroes or even one player can play solo!
The inclusion of tokens over a large collection of minis makes HeroQuest: First Light much more accessible from a price point as well. As much fun and adventure is packed into HeroQuest, it is a bit of an investment. But, First Light is much more reasonably priced for someone not sure if this game will be for them.
The game includes 10 unique quests, including the option to make your own. Plus, once you’ve mastered First Light, the quests and components are fully compatible with all HeroQuest expansion packs. So you can continue the adventure with your First Light heroes into any of the many, many HeroQuest expansions.
Additionally included are over 100 beautifully illustrated game cards, 67 full color standees, and 4 epic hero minis (1 barbarian, 1 dwarf, 1 elf, 1 wizard), plus a epic dragon!
The double sided game board provides plenty of options for building your own quests, providing as much replayability as the original classic.
