The Avengers have a DEEP roster in Marvel Comics. So we picked a handful that have yet to make an appearance in Marvel: Crisis Protocol!

When the Avengers first formed it was in 1963 in our world. Their comic saw them come together to square off against Loki and ultimately stop his plot. The founding members have long since been added to Marvel: Crisis Protocol. However, considering the team is over 60 years old in real time, they’ve got a LOT of stories under their belt. Their line-up has changed and shifted a TON over the years. So we’re digging into their roster for a few characters we’d love to see added to the game as Avengers (or otherwise).

Wonder Man (Simon Williams)

via Marvel Comics

Simon Williams became Wonder Man as part of a plot to infiltrate the Avengers. Imbued with powers thanks to Baron Zemo, he decided to sacrifice himself to thwart Zemo’s plot. While his initial Avengers tenure was short lived him was eventually revived…three times. “Because Comics!” and stuck around. Wonder Man’s addition to the roster actually led to the creation of Vision.

Wonder Man has had a wide array of powers at various times in his history. It would be a challenge to bring him to the tabletop. But I’d really like to see what the folks at Atomic Mass Games come up with for him in MCP!

Night Thrasher (Dwayne Taylor)

via Marvel Comics

It’s going to be hard for me to overstate how 90’s this character is. But Night Thrasher is SOOO 90’s. Originally, Night Thrasher was created as the founder and leader of the New Warriors. That was a team that was supposed to appeal to the teens of the day. There was a heavy focus on his extreme acrobatic skills (especially with a skateboard). And look, there’s clearly the Batman comparison with his origin, too. But I’m not going to get into all of that.

I’d still like to see Night Thrasher brought to the game. We’re getting Nova (who’s also an Avenger as well as New Warriors member). So hey, let’s get the nostalgia wagon fired up and bring in Night Thrasher while we’re at it!

Blue Marvel (Adam Brashear)

via Marvel Comics

Let me just start by saying that the Blue Marvel is OP. Strangely, he’s also a relatively unknown character outside of comic fans. But the dude is a BOSS. He’s got a genius-level intellect that puts him up there with the greatest minds in Marvel Comics. Blue Marvel is also a stable “antimatter reactor” as well. He’s got superhuman strength, speed, durability, stamina, and mental perception. He’s also got a bunch of energy manipulation powers and can fly. He’s on par with characters like Hulk, Thor, and the Sentry. There’s a reason he’s been called “Black Superman” by people.

His history is also really interesting and underrated. I feel like the creators took a bit of the Sentry’s angle with him and have treated him like a character that’s “been there the whole time” but just not at the forefront. His real world debut was actually in 2008 — so he is still a relative newcomer compared to some of the entries on this list. That said, if he does come to MCP I hope he’s a Threat Level 6 powerhouse!

Hellcat (Pasty Walker)

via Marvel Comics

I’ve actually talked about Hellcat before. Patsy Walker is a firecracker of a character with potent powers. She’s probably best thought of as a skilled martial artist and sort of a street-brawler character. But she’s got superhuman powers that push her beyond just that. She’s also got some psychic powers and a magical cloak to dabble on the mystic side of things. She really does earn that “Hellcat” moniker, too. She’s one Avenger that would be cool to have added to the game. Plus she could have a could team tactic card with She-Hulk, too.

Hercules

I’ve had Herc on lists before. I don’t really think he needs much of an introduction. Considering he’s been teased on a Team Tactic Card before I’m thinking it’s only a matter of time before this Greek Demigod shows up in MCP.

But yes, Hercules is also an Avenger and has been in a bunch of other teams including the Defenders, Champions, Damage Control, and even the Heroes for Hire! That’s another affiliation I’d like added. Anyhow, here’s hoping that Herc hops in the Marvel: Crisis Protocol!
