Marvel: Crisis Protocol – We Need The Armor Wars With These Five Characters

Marvel: Crisis Protocol could kick off their own Armor Wars with the addition of these five characters. Iron Man won’t be happy about it.

Tony Stark has a lot of enemies. Some of them have even used his own technology against him in The Armor Wars. If you’re unfamiliar with the story arc it involved Tony Stark as Iron Man hunting down a handful of villains that were using Stark Tech in their own armor. Feeling the guilt/responsibility of having Stark Tech in the hands of these people he comes up with a way to neutralize their armor. And thus the Armor Wars had begun…

Force

We need to start off with the character that kicked off this whole thing. Force isn’t exactly a well known villain. However, he’s pop-up from time-to-time. He has an augmented suit that can generate a force field — hence the name. In a battle at the start of the story arc, Tony analyzes his armor to realize it’s based off his own designs and Stark technology. After learning the armor’s origin Tony goes after other armored criminals with ties to his stolen tech.

Stilt-Man

I’m still not convinced this character wasn’t created as a joke. That said, Stilt-Man is a criminal in Marvel Comics regardless of my own personal feelings. There have actually been a few different Stilt-Men characters over the years and one of them was in the Armor Wars. He’s also one of the early “victims” of Iron Man’s rampage. After a short encounter, Iron Man uses a negator pack (a device he created to fry any Stark-based circuitry) on Stilt-Man to render his suit inoperable.

Controller

Basil Sandhurst is a strange one. He was essentially a scientist who didn’t like to be told “no.” After a whole lot of exposition and a lab accident, he became the villain known as Controller. He’s got a super-strong exoskeleton that’s powered by the “cerebral energies” of people he’s out-fitted with slave discs. But really, he’s on this list because at one point his armor was upgraded with Stark Technology — and that’s why he landed on Iron Man’s Armor Wars hit list.

Beetle

Beetle is typically a villain that tangles with Spider-Man. However, he found himself caught up in the Armor Wars because his armor has Stark Tech in it. Bad news for him. Iron Man hunted him down with a vengeance and incapacitated his armor. Even if we don’t get an Armor Wars series of characters for MCP, I’d still like a Beetle added to the game.

Also, fun fact, it wasn’t technically the “Armor Wars” until after the series finished. It was first called “Stark Wars” which you can see in the top left of the image above.

Justin Hammer

Sam Rockwell as Justin Hammer, Iron Man 2 (2010)

Justin Hammer is another long-time adversary of Iron Man. He was portrayed by an excellently cast Sam Rockwell in the MCU and I really liked his take on the character. That said, in the comics he’s an old man. While we don’t really see him take on Iron Man directly, he’s the really to blame for the Armor Wars to begin with. If hadn’t paid to have Tony Stark’s designs stolen, then the other villains wouldn’t have gotten Start Tech based upgrades. And before you ask how can we have a regular evil business man in Marvel: Crisis Protocol, let me remind you that we got Kingpin. Toss him in an Iron Man knock off suit if you have to. But bring in Justin Hammer to MCP!

There’s actually quite the rogues gallery of characters from Armor Wars. Maybe one day we’ll get all of them in MCP…
