This year’s Black Friday Sale is on. Set up your table at a deep discount, starting with sets of FLG’s pre-printed durable terrain for up to $140 off. This is the same terrain they use at events, so you know it can withstand abuse.

Also included in the sale are FLG’s fantastic mats in two patterns and neoprene terrain area pieces of the same size and shape used by GW. You can also pick up matching objective markers. All of these feature colorful designs to create an immersive experience and let you concentrate on your tactics instead of your measuring tape.

Many of you have seen the terrain and mats up close at FLG events. If you haven’t had the pleasure, check out Goatboy’s closer look.

Goatboy Reviews the District 13 Set

We got one of the new Frontline Gamings Terrain sets designed for Warhammer 40k Matched play games.  It is a quick terrain set with pre-printed full-color pieces designed to break down for easy storage and use.

Let’s dig in a bit so I can show you why this is a neat release for those matched play enthusiasts.

Overall, it’s a pretty simple set. There are only a few pieces you would need to glue on—things like window ledge parts, extra mechanical-looking things to help bring a bit more grim dark to the tabletop.

You basically pull out each shape, create the L shape, and then build the floor to lock it all in. A few small pillars fit into holes on the side, creating some tension and holding the whole thing together. This makes it very easy to quickly pull out, build, and create the terrain you need for your matched-play game.

Easy to Build Terrain

This is how the parts get to you. You can see each wall and since they are designed to be interchangeable with a lot of the terrain pieces – you get a whole lot of customization you can do.  Look at how awesome that little terrain area mat they sit on, too.  That is a pretty detailed set and really just helps create the realism we always kind of crave in our game of plastic toy soldiers.

Here it is built and how you would see it on your tabletop.

It’s a pretty simple L shape that does everything you need for your 40k game, including adding height. It blocks the line of sight, is easy enough to set up, and can be broken down in a way that can easily travel with you as needed.

This set will fit in a shoebox, which is pretty awesome. I would advise those playing with this to utilize ziplock bags to hold some of the smaller tension pieces, but that isn’t a big deal when you want to have something useful for matched-play games.

Look at those Sanguinary Guard running around the planet’s ruins, ready to bring the Emperor’s wrath to his enemies!  … or just dance around with their neon pink swords of doom.

Don’t Miss Frontline Gaming’s Black Friday Sale

These deals won’t be available forever – the sale ends Tuesday, December 2nd. Don’t miss out on your chance to upgrade your table from the mat up!
