Wait, what is happening?! Mattel and RAID: Shadow Legends have a cross over I did not know I needed. This is how they get me.

Okay, first up #NotAnAd — I’m only even talking about this because it’s honestly kind of bonkers. You’ve probably heard of RAID: Shadow Legends. If you’ve been on YouTube between now and 2019, you probably saw an ad for it at some point. And look, you may not have checked it out at some point, poked at it, and bounced. Or you might be a whale in the game, and if that’s the case, you probably already knew about this.

However this is kind of a PSA for anyone who’s played it or ever thought about it before. Right now, you can get Skeletor in the game just for playing for 14 days. And those days don’t have to be in a row!

The Cross-Over I Didn’t Know I Wanted

I legit had a good chuckle at this video when I first saw it. “Floortal!” Yeah…I lol’d. I am totally going to use that in a D&D game now. ANYHOW, yes, you can recruit Skeletor in RAID: Shadow Legends. And, if you’ve got an account of any level, you can find a use for him.

Skeletor Chase Details

The video explains this one but the short run down is this: If you log in for 7 days between now and January 8, 2025 you can get Skeletor for free. On Day 7, as a log-in bonus actually. Once you got him on your roster, he’s locked in, too. It’s completely free to do.

Now, there’s more to the rest of the Skeletor Chase. You’ll get more rewards the more days you log in. There’s also a way to get his “Perfect Soul” upgrades which happens when Phase two unlocks.

And look, I’m not going to pretend I fully understand the rest of these systems. There’s been a LOT of updates since the last time I was really playing this game. What I do know is that it’s entirely free to get Skeletor and that’s all I really care about.

What About He-Man?!

Oh he’s in the game now, too. However, if you want to channel the power of Greyskull, you’re going to have to bust out the plastic for that one. And I’m not going to sugar coat it — this one is grind. Not only do you have to purchase a premium pass, you’ll also have to complete it all by January 25, 2025. I’m pretty sure that’s where this type of game got it’s name from because this one feels like a “Gotcha” moment.

To re-iterate, this isn’t an ad so I can be blunt here: I’m not advocating for you to PAY to play this game. There’s loads of free characters to earn and play with already. You’re probably not going to top the leaderboards if you don’t swipe your credit card, but frankly, I don’t care about that. I personally don’t think paying for He-Man is worth it. But I’ve gotten a lot of hours out of this game in the past (mostly poking at it on my iPad or in the background doing other stuff). And I haven’t spent a dime.

You do you. I’m not paying for this pass.

So log in for 7 to get Skeletor. Or 14 if you want to juice him up a bit. Or go for the phase two Perfect Souls bonuses if you want. But I really just though this was funny and easy enough to get without swiping the card to do it.

Hey it’s something to play for when those family gatherings get a little awkward this holiday season…
