Warhammer 40K: Battleforce Boxes – Which To Get
Games Workshop is bringing the holiday Battleforce boxes again. Which one should you snag for Warhammer 40,000?
Last month on Warhammer Day, GW revealed the battleforce boxes coming this holiday season. There’s still plenty of time to prepare and plan. So which one are you wanting to get?
Warhammer 40,000 has five Battleforce Boxes coming:
- T’au Empire – Retaliation Cadre
- Dark Angels – Inner Circle Task Force
- Imperial Knights – Valourstrike Lance
- Adepta Sororitas – Penitent Crusader Host
- Necron – Hypercrypt Legion
What’s good about all of these options is that if their army has an existing Combat Patrol than these slot right in. If you get any of these boxes and their respective Combat Patrol you’ll have a playable army ready to rock and roll.
Which Battleforce To Get?
That said, I think you’ve got some really strong options from these Battleforces. Obviously, the one you should get (if you’re planning on getting one) is for the army that you’re most interested in playing. What’s neat is that these are also great launching points for anyone looking to start a new army. Each one has a nice “centerpiece” model.
The two Battleforces I’d be most interested in would be either the Dark Angels Inner Circle Task Force or the Imperial Knights Valourstrike Lance. The Dark Angel’s battleforce comes with The Lion and some beefy Deathwing Terminators. A great complement to the Combat Patrol.
The Knights, on the other hand, are fairly standalone as a box. Their army doesn’t really have a Combat Patrol because, well, they are Knights! Honestly, you could either grab just that box and maybe another Knight or two and be set. Or you could double down on that box and have a ton of options when the new Imperial Knights Codexes comes out in 2025.
Again, all of these are good deals and if you want to play Necrons, Sisters, or T’au — more power to you. These boxes will certainly get you started! The biggest issue for most of these Battleforces every year is how fast they sell out. Hopefully, GW has been preparing for that for this holiday season…
It might be time to start that Knight Army. It’s only a handful of models to build and paint, right?
