Warhammer 40K: The Top Unit To Buy for Each Chaos Army
Goatboy here with the single best Warhammer 40K unit to pick up in 10th Edition, for each Chaos army you might play.
Goatboy here and just as I did a Space Marine best purchase breakdown let’s do that for the Chaos armies of choice out there. While we don’t have all of them yet (cough cough – Emperor’s Children) we still have a few we can look over and see the slam dunk purchases you can buy for your little “true” hero’s of the 40K universe. It is a pretty decent time being a Chaos player as we have a lot of choices to pick from and while some of the armies have slim pickings there is always the best choice in there.
6. Chaos Daemons – Plague Bearers of Nurgle
As we continue to look at Chaos Daemons it appears a single unit is the undisputed best backfield objective holder that help get your base sticky, be kind of a pain to remove if they deep strike in, and an overall easy set of models to build and paint. I would have put in Pink Horrors but they need another box of models to really activate them and just having 10 Plague Bearers is an easy add on to any Daemon Generals army.
5. Chaos Space Marines – Chosen
This is a slam dunk of a box for any basic Chaos Space Marine player. This unit of 5 guys will show up in all the lists, riding dirty in a Rhino, and most likely hanging out with a Chaos Lord. A unit of 10 Chosen is one of the big glue pieces that let Abaddon run around the table like a toddler on a sugar high. If your CSM player wants a cool model gift a box of Chosen is a great thing.
4. World Eaters – Eightbound/Exalted Eightbound
This is one of the units you will see in every World Eater’s army. The boxed set makes both units, it has a ton of parts, and screams World Eater when building/painting this unit. If you are wanting to try out World Eaters you will be buying a few of these boxes as well as grabbing Angron to round out your army. I won’t say how many Eightbound I have painted but I can maximize how many I play if the 40K Rules writers decided to drop them down in points to let me take 36 of them.
3. Thousand Sons – Rubric Marines
The backbone of a Thousand Sons army is their regular Battleline choice. With Rubrics, you get a character model in there to help with your rituals, a ton of bodies to hold those objectives, and two different basic weapon choices to help you out. This is an easy box to wrap up and any Thousand Sons player will need a few to round out their army.
2. Death Guard – Deathshroud Bodyguard
Another unit that has started to show up in a of recent Death Guard armies – the Deathshroud are a really neat kit to play on the table top. Thankfully you don’t need to convert too much and it is a pretty neat model to play with. A few boxes of these, throw in some special characters, and you got the building blocks for a powerful army for Grandfather Nurgle.
1. Chaos Knights – War Dogs
Thankfully this box can build you all the options and if you want to play Chaos Knights you will need to get a ton of these boxes. The War Dogs come with a ton of bits so you can take your regular Armigers and juice them up with the powers of your Dark Masters and get everything you need to play Giant Evil robots of doom. They are also a great add on to any of your other Chaos Armies that can ally up as they get you some shooting options or powerful assault options as needed.
Happy (Chaotic) Grimdark shopping!
