Warhammer: Underworlds Embergard Warbands Up Close
We got the Warhammer: Underworlds Embergard Warbands in the studio and are taking a look at these new miniatures up close. Choose your side!
This weekend the new edition of Warhammer: Underworlds is up for Pre-order. Embergard contains everything you need to start playing Warhammer: Underworlds — and that includes two brand new Warbands. Today, we’re taking a closer look at each of the members of the respective warbands. So let’s dive on in!
Emberwatch
The Stormcast Eternals have a new warband dubbed the Emberwatch. It features three members with distinct weapons for each. As far as the minis go, they are all push-fit and come in that pre-dyed blue plastic. The details are up to snuff for GW minis, too. No complaints there.
I do like these sculpts for the characters. Unfortunately, I’m just not that into the Stormcast Eternals myself. However, that’s the nice thing about Underworlds — it allows you to dabble with factions you might not normally play.
Personally, I might want to experiment with this warband if for nothing else than to try a paint scheme for the Stormcast. It’s pretty low commitment and I’ll still be able to take them for a spin in Underworlds.
Zikkit’s Clawpack
For the Skaven, we have five miniatures in this strange green color. Again, they are push-fit miniatures and have distinct weapons and poses. It’s pretty hard to mess-up assembling these minis.
What I do like about each of them is they are essentially different aspects of Skaven from Clan Skryre. You’ve got the Warlock leading the charge along with some more devious Skaven contraptions. I don’t know if I like the mini-doomwheel/doom-flayer or the rat-bomb more. I do feel kinda bad for the rat-bomb though…
Skaven aren’t my particular brand of chaos flavor though. But if you like them, more power to you! And, again, this warband is self-contained for Underworlds so if you just want to dabble you’ve got that option. I don’t see my self ever starting an entire Skaven army. But I did have a Skaven Blood Bowl team at one point…so why not an Underworlds Warband!?
Embergard is out for pre-order this weekend from Games Workshop and kicks off the new edition. Which side will you choose?
I really want to get my hands on some of the other warbands…
