Risk can be daunting for even older players. There’s just a level of strategy and competition that doesn’t appeal to many, myself included. Lord of the Rings Adventure Book Game is honestly more my speed. Plus, I will always prefer a cooperative game over a competitive one.

It’s simple and aimed towards a younger audience, but still provides enough gameplay to keep all ages entertained. Plus, since you’ll be playing through the whole story, it’s a great intro into the series.

It’s a cooperative, narrative game that plays a lot closer to a game of D&D, thanks to the free app which acts as the game’s GM.
