The Adeptus Mechanicus has some competition in the Underhive. And it’s not the Dark Mechanicus. Their means are still questionable though.

Games Workshop is showcasing another new hired gun for Necromunda. This time it’s a bit of a rejected member of the Adeptus Mechanicus — or at least someone who shares a similar fashion sense. The Hereteks are coming to the Underhive and they’ve got forbidden technology and procedures in tow. Literally. Look at this guy’s back!

Reckless inventors who twist, subvert, and reshape the sacred teachings of the Adeptus Mechanicus, Hereteks are inveterate tinkerers who dismiss the last 10,000 years of technological stagnation enforced by the zealots of Mars and spit at it by grafting a rubbery lackey to their back and handing him a big old gun.

Hereteks Of Necromunda

So yeah, this Heretek has an extra set of hands on his back. It’s courtesy of the “lackey” he’s grafted to his back. This is both useful and disturbing. I don’t even want to think about the biological ramifications. Anyhow, the Heretek also comes with a few other robotic crew with a pair of servo-skulls and a tracked C.A.T. under his command.

Clocking in at 40 credits he can be quite useful. That’s when his inventions work of course.

“[The Heretek] … put to work enhancing the weapon of one fighter during the pre-battle sequence with the Blast, Concussion, Rad-phage or Shock traits. Such hasty and unsanctioned upgrades come with a cost, and so they also become Unstable or Reckless. But that’s just the price of doing business.”

Considering he also comes with either a grav-gun or plasma gun that’s actually a pretty good deal! The catch is that he’s available for any Outlaw gang to hire. Or, if you’re playing an Outcast gang, you can actually take one as your Gang Leader.

The Heretek and his mini crew are coming in Forge World resin however. Sorry, not plastic boxed set this time around.

Outlaws and Outcasts get all the fun toys…
