Necromunda: ‘Ty Onmyodo Coven’ Comes To The Underhive
There’s more noble houses with mysteries of their own on Necromunda. Today we are meeting House Ty and their representatives in the Underhive.
The “big six” House on Necromunda might be more well known to the players of Necromunda but there are more noble houses in the great spire. Dozens of houses participate in the dance of diplomacy and there representatives survive the day-to-day dealings within the cutthroat world. One such House is House Ty. They are a fairly mysterious lot that traces their ancestry all the way back to ancient Terra.
“The great and mysterious House Ty on Necromunda claims its ancestry from the Nihon Empire and Dragon Isle of Ancient Terra.
But while the house maintains the stylings of Ancient Terra, they’re altogether more psychic than their distant ancestors, with many even joining Lord Helmawr’s personal stable of psykers and astropaths. As you’d expect, they have a longstanding alliance with House Delaque, though they’ll work with anyone for the appropriate incentives.”
House Ty and the Onmyodo Coven
The Onymodo Coven always travel in a pair. They are a paired duo of one psyker and one null. The null helps to regulate and keep the psyker’s power in check. If you look at the miniatures you can also see their ornate collars — a mark of their powers. These also help to regulate their abilities as well. These collars are connected to an uplink that communicates with their controller in the uphive. Who’s controlling them? Likely a noble lord. But you won’t be able to get that sort of info out of these two…
Rules-wise, the psyker does count as a Sanctioned Psyker. They get access to two powers from the Telepathy discipline. She also has the Overseer ability, too. As for the Null? Well they live up to their namesake. They shut down any psychic powers from happening with 6″ of her. While that’s a “nice-to-have” I actually like that she’s got a boltgun and power sword slightly more.
The Onmyodo Coven is recruitable by most gangs. They will be released in Forge World resin at a future date. Personally, I’m hoping we see more from these lesser known Houses on Necromunda. I really hope we see more from House Ty in the future!
