It looks like the Clones are in for some not-so welcomed company. The Crab Droids are crawling their way to the tabletop and are some heavy hitters for the Separatist Army.
“The LM-432 Crab Droid was one of many specialized mechanical soldiers deployed in the war against the Galactic Republic. During the Clone Wars, these models saw extensive use in marsh terrain, and thereby earned the nickname “Muckrakers.” While several variants were used throughout the conflict, the Techno Union primarily utilized a four-legged version with an underslung blaster cannon. Equipped with powerful claws and durable armor, these walkers were a formidable sight on the battlefield. The LM-432 Crab Droid
Kicking things off I must say the art work is looking good! These droids are coming with the new style Star Wars: Legion unit cards, too. Their design was updated for the new refreshed edition and I’m liking the new layout. I like how the upgrades options are on this side but check out how clean the other side will be:
You’ve got all your important keywords there as well as their basic attack and stats. All the keyword rules are found in the rulebook now, too. So no need for them to be on the card. I like the new look overall — there’s a lot less visual clutter. Plus AMG can really load-up the keywords if they need to.
In this case the Crab Droids do have a whopping seven keywords to play with. They are excellent at getting around with those four legs thanks to Climbing Vehicle, Reposition, and Scale. There’s no where to hide from these droids.
They also pack a punch, too! While they literally hit hard with their claws they also have access to some other weapon upgrades. The Twin Blaster Cannons or the Heavy Laser Cannon will ensure you’re pounding the enemy at range. It really depends on which role you want them to fill on the tabletop.
