Warhammer 40K: Kill Team – Ork Wrecka Krew Rules Preview
The Ork Wrecka Krew is bringing the hammer down with their Warhammer 40,000 Kill Team rules. It’s Krumpin’ Time!
The Kill Teams of Brutal and Cunning are coming to pre-order this weekend. While I might have some reservations about the Ratling Snipers I’m less worried about the Ork Wrecka Krews. And by less worried I mean their playstyle is very straight forward. That playstyle is very orky: maximum aggro!
Formed by an ad-hoc alliance of Tankbustas and Breaka Boyz, Wrecka Krews are compact teams of elite Orks bent on explosive destruction with powerful (if inaccurate) rokkit launchas, brutal pneumatic knucklebustas, and tankhammers with explosive heads that can be as lethal to their operator as they are to the enemy. They are bound more by competition than co-operation: while the Tankbustas obsess over the biggest, flashiest targets the Breaka Boyz regard them as kill-stealing cheaters.
Ork Wrecka Krew Kill Team Rules
The Wrecka Krews of Kill Team will be relying on their mighty Wrecka Rampage to get the job done. It revolves around accruing Wrecka Points and then spending them at the right time.
It’s a way to turn your failures into successes! You have to spend 3 points to do it and you can only bank a total of 6 at a time. So spend them when you’ve got them! There’s also the Demolition Job ploy they can use when a Wrecka snags a kill.
Basically, if one of the opposing operatives gets downed by a Fight or Shoot action, before that operative is removed you get a special marker. That allows you to spend a Wrecka Point for free when making attacks at targets within 3″ of that marker. It’s a nice little boon for the Wreckas to get.
Also, just attacking seems to really get their blood pumping based on the Tanked Up rule above. Getting an additional APL just for doing something that they were probably wanting to do anyways is nice!
