Warhammer 40K: Lieutenant Titus Gets A Rules Download
The Protagonist of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is coming to stores and getting a free rules download for the tabletop.
Lieutenant Titus is ready to bring the Wrath of the Emperor down on his enemies. Games Workshop is running a special promotion, updating his rules, AND putting out a free Kill Team mission for him. It’s a good time to be Lieutenant Titus!
“Anyone who buys Lt Titus during a limited period will be eligible for a voucher worth £10 (or local currency equivalent) which can be redeemed between the 26th of December and 2nd of February.*
* While stocks last, terms and conditions apply, offer not available in China or Japan.”
Lieutenant Titus – The Rules
You can download his rules for free right here. Lieutenant Titus is still a Space Marine Lieutenant at his core but he’s also an Epic Hero, too.
He’s rocking a Heavy Bolt Pistol and Astartes Chainsword. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have the option to carry a rifle as well. I guess he had to leave that option in the video game. Anyhow, he’s still just as good as any other Lieutenant but he does cost a whole 5 more points…
I think if you’ve got the miniature you can probably find 5 points to spare to get him in your list. If you’re playing Ultramarines at least. I think he’s at least worth a look.
Kill Team Time
Additionally, if you have the miniature why not bust him out in Kill Team?! You can download a special mission pack right here.
I’m not going to get into spoilers for the mission in case someone out there hasn’t played the game or just wants to go in blind.
That said, what’s cool about this mission is that this is a joint ops mission pack. It’s designed for 1-3 players to play. You’re team is heading into Tyranid infested territory and will be facing off against waves of ‘Gaunts and …other Tyranid Bioforms.
What’s great about this pack is there are rules for the Tyranids/NPOs to basically run them with out a person playing as them. Just follow the steps outlined and you’ll have a rudimentary “AI” opponent to tackle with your friends.
Personally, I really like these co-op style missions and have been wanting more of them for years. I think it’s a fantastic way to teach new players how to play these games. Plus, who doesn’t want to grab a bolter and slay out with a couple buddies?! That’s a good time right there.
You could easily modify this for other Kill Teams with just a little extra leg work. But the idea is sound. If you’ve got Titus and the Kill Team rules (as well as some appropriate Xenos to slaughter) then I’d highly recommend trying this one out. And if you find it to be too easy…just double the enemies and see how that goes.
I know it’s “Purge the Heretic”…but what about “Slay Out With The Boys!”
