The new Genestealer Cult Final Day Detachment is here. Wait…does that mean the Star Children are arriving for dinner?

When it comes to wishing for your own demise the Genestealer Cults are pros at it. If you’re their enemies on the same world, well, you’re about to be converted to biomass to feed the Tyranid Hive Fleet. But I guess you can take solace in the fact that the GSC will be joining you shortly after, too. If they only knew they were about to get exactly what they wished for.

“Every Genestealer Cultist longs to witness the arrival of the Star Children, and then ascend to join them in blessed oneness. This will be a transcendent experience, a sublime reward for their devotion, or so they believe. The reality is altogether more hideous: as the Tyranids approach, the utterly alien Hive Mind assimilates the more nuanced Broodmind of the Cult. “

The theme of this detachment is pretty clear: The Genestealer Cult has summoned the Tyranids and they are here. The idea is mixing in some of the Tyranid Vanguard units into your Genestealer Cult army. The amount is dependent on the size of the game.

Now, the benefit is that the Tyranids can basically take wounds from your GSC units thanks to the Psionic Parasitism rule. You do D3+1 damage to a GSC unit and a Tyranid unit in range gains that back. The Tyranid units also gain a +1 to hit rolls. Furthermore, GSC units within 6″ of a Tyranid unit also  gain a +1 to hit, too. It’s a symbiotic relationship…for now.

Oh hey, look at that! We’ve got four enhancements and six stratagems to play with as well. Once again, there’s loads of synergies to tap into here between the GSC units and the Tyranids. So have fun with this one.

If you’re playing GSC and don’t have any Tyranids now is a great time to snag some and start dabbling. And if you’ve got a Tyranid army and are looking to expand into GSC, well, this detachment just made that easier for you. It’s less GSC points you have to get ready for the tabletop!

I never though the rippers were going to eat MY face! ~Genestealer Cult Member, probably.
