Warhammer Next Week: The Old World’s Empire Of Man And Necromunda Squats
Next week, the Old World unleashes the Empire of Man, while Necromunda doesn’t skip leg day. Because of all the Squats.
Next week, Warhammer’s The Old World doubles down on puffy pants, griffons, and guns. What more could you need? With the pre-order release of the Empire of Man Arcane Journal and accompanying minis, your Empire forces will be ready to show the rest of the World how it’s done.
But that’s not all. In the grim darknessof the distant future, Squats come out to play in a new Necromunda book. So whether you want guns, or space guns, there’s something for everyone next week.
The Old World: Empire Of Man
The Empire is a potent force in the Old World. In Sigmar’s name, it holds the tides of Chaos at bay. And the new Arcane Journal for the Empire of Man has everything you need to pay the army. You’ll find profiles for special characterslike Harald Gemunsen, Grand Master of the Knights Panther, or General Hans von Lowenhacke, as well as new units, Armies of Infamy, and more.
Or jump start your army with the new Empire of Man Battalion. This big box comes with 30 State Troops, 30 Missile Troops, and a Steam Tank. Everything you need to lay your enemies to ruin. But you’ll probably want some characters, too. Fret not. GW has you covered.
The General of the Empire on Imperial Griffon is a striking commander that can lead the charge into battle. Or, use the same kit to build a Wizard Lord on two-headed griffon. Probably nothing Tzeentchian to worry about there.
The War Altar of Sigmar carries Sigmar’s glory onto the battlefield. So that you can have zealous sermons and litanies against evil on the battlefield, like any good Empire should have.
In the Commanders of the Empire kit, you get everything you need to build two commanders. One mounted and one not. Be they Generals, Standard Bearers, or Champions, you’ll find it here.
Of course, you can find plenty of troop options as well. There’s the Free Company Militia, mounted Pistoliers, Imperial Knights, and Demigryph Knights. Each ready to hold the line with their own command options.
And of course, it being the Empire, you’ll want to bring out the big guns. Don’t worry. With the Cannon & Mortars kit, you’ve got plenty. Specifically minis for two great cannons or mortars, and six crew to fire them.
Or bring out the Teutogen Guard, protectors of the high priest of Ulric. With special hammers and fearsome armor, they will fight hard in the name of the White Wolf.
Imperial Ogres are a blast from the past. These six Ogres all come with hand weapons and great weapons.
And of course, there’s an ogre with cannon.
Finally the Empire of Man Command Set (not to be confused with the Commanders of the Empire kit) gives you a General of the Empire, a Captain of the Empire with Battle Standard, and a Harbinger of Doom.
Necromunda – Squats Enough For A Thoousand Leg Days
In Necromunda, the Halls of the Ancients book is the big order of the day. In the new big book, you’ll find the history of the Ironhead Squat prospectors, as well as updated rules for their gangs. You’ll also find rules for Exo-kyn and Svenotar Scout Trikes in there, so you can bring down the best that the squats have to offer.
Speaking of Exo-kyn, these are squats in exo-suits, capable of traversing all sorts of harsh environs. With their mining equipment they can harvest resources from the most difficult reaches of Necromunda. Especially since this squad of four squats is backed up by two techmite exovator units.
The Svenotar Scout Trikes are some of the Ironhead Prospector’s fastest toys. This duo of trikes might be ironically numbered, but with their twin-linked weapons and techmite oculi, they can lay down fire and be gone before enemies have a chance to draw a bead on them.
All this, next week!
