Do you think you’ve got what it takes to write the next Warhammer hit novel? Time to prove it. Black Library’s Open Submissions are back!

If you’ve ever read the lore or novels from Black Library and thought “hmm, I think I could do better” well, time to put your pen to paper. The gauntlet has been thrown and the challenge has been issued. Black Library is accepting open submissions from anyone* who wants to enter. Oh, and you also need to have your submission fit the theme and formatting provided by GW.

This year’s theme revolves around a duel …of sorts. You’re task is to write a 500 word scene that includes two characters from either Warhammer 40,000 or Warhammer: Age of Sigmar.  What are these two characters doing? Fighting? Chatting? Having some tea before launching a world conquest? That’s for you to decide…

Black Library is once again inviting open submissions for a short window between the 22nd of February and the 9th of March. This time they want a short scene featuring two characters either from Warhammer 40,000 or Age of Sigmar. It could be a duel, a conversation, or anything else you can imagine; and if you impress their discerning editors, you may even be invited to formally pitch.

As with most contents from GW there are some rules:

There’s also those pesky terms and conditions to check on if you’re serious about entering your submissions. You’ve got some time to polish your work as well. So hopefully you can get your creative juices flowing and then also ferment them into a fine wine of prose…or something. Anyhow, good luck to everyone who’s looking to enter. You might become the next Black Library author!

*Okay, so maybe not just anyone. You have to be at least 18 to enter. Read those T’s & C’s!

I would say share which two characters you’d like to write about in the comments — but I don’t want people to steal anyone’s idea/work!
