‘Cyberpunk RED’s New Night City Atlas Fleshes Out the City in a Big Way
The new Night City Atlas for Cyberpunk RED will take you into Night City like never before, with new districts full of possibilities. And it’s free!
R. Talsorian Games has released its January DLC—these are usually previews of things to come. And we’re starting the year off right with a brand new Night City Atlas.
This is an expansive, 15 page guide to Night City in the time of the Red. Which, in the works of Cyberpunk is right around 2045. But while this map of Night City might look familiar, if you look closer you’ll see there’s so much more of Night City to explore.
And you can do so for free. The whole thing is a preview of the upcoming book, The Edgerunner’s Guide to Night City. I can say, if the rest of the book is at all like this atlas, Night City’s future is more preem than ever.
Night City Atlas – 15 Pages of Night City Like You Never Knew It
The Night City Atlas is packed full of usable info for the recovering Night City in the time of the Red. Recovering from what, you ask? Well, direct your eyes to the “Hot Zone” and you’ll see where Arasaka Tower used to be. And where it will be again, one day. But for now, the Hot Zone.
Of course, if you’re looking at the map, you might also notice a lot more detail. In fact, here’s a closer look:
You might notice more streets, but moreover, more Districts populating Night City. As the designers put it:
Clever readers might notice more districts on this map of Night City than were on the map in the Cyberpunk RED core rulebook. That’s by design. Over the past few years, as we’ve worked on the game’s story, we’ve found spaces where the city has expanded naturally. Santo Domingo and North Heywood were more or less divided from the beginning. Kabuki split off as we worked on Danger Gal Dossier. The Reclamation Zone was born from the story of Heywood as told in the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Mission Kit.
Night City is an elastic metropolis. We don’t give it specific dimensions for a reason. Like Gotham City, Gravity Falls, and Midsomer County, it can grow and expand as the story dictates. Don’t be afraid to create new buildings, roads, neighborhoods, or even districts of your own if the need arises. We certainly aren’t!
Accompanying the Night City Atlas is a ZIP file containing high resolution maos of the city, some with locations named and marked, others with it just showing the roads and districts. All of it, eminently usable. So if you’re going to play Cyberpunk RED, you won’t want to skip this DLC, chooms.
Night City calls!
