‘Daredevil Born Again’ Leans Into Its TV-MA Rating In Brutal First Trailer
Daredevil Born Again isn’t holding any punches. The first trailer is full of hard-hitting action and new characters.
The Marvel TV formula has been thrown out the window and replaced with Netflix’s darker, more violent universe. The trailer teases a show that fans have been waiting years for. It brings back not only Matt, but Kingpin and Frank. And lots of bone-crunching action.
It looks like we’re dropping in after Echo rather than Season Three of Daredevil. Matt has hung up the mask and gone back to court. Fisk is trying to go legit and running for NYC mayor. But there’s a new villain in play (and thankfully, he doesn’t have a brand on his forehead this time) that’s getting in the way of their new paths.
Let the Devil out…
The trailer reveals the return of Bullseye (played by Wilson Bethel), and the inclusion of serial killer Muse and vigilante White Tiger (Hector Ayala this time). There’s going to be a lot going on in this nine-episode season (not the previously announced 18, sorry).
And when Matt puts the mask on, he’s got choices.
Daredevil Born Again Cast
The show brings back cast members from the fan-favorite Netflix series, including Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, and Jon Bernthal. Plus, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Marianna, and Wilson Bethel as Poindexter. The cast also includes Michael Gandolfini, Margarita Levieva, and Jeremy Earl.
Dario Scardapane, creator of the Netflix series, is acting as showrunner.
“Matt Murdock (Cox), a blind lawyer with heightened abilities is fighting for justice through his bustling law firm, while former mob boss Wilson Fisk (D’Onofrio) pursues his own political endeavors in New York. When their past identities begin to emerge, both men find themselves on an inevitable collision course.”
Daredevil Born Again premieres March 4 at 6 pm PT/9 pm ET, only on Disney Plus.
