‘The Batman Who Laughs Rising’ Board Game is Worth It For the Figure Alone
Even without the exciting dice-rolling gameplay of The Batman Who Laughs Rising, I’d pay that much for the centerpiece alone!
Part of the Rising series of games, like Thanos Rising, The Batman Who Laughs Rising takes arguably the most terrifying villain in the DC universe and makes him the center of attention. And in the case of the included statue, quite literally.
The Batman Who Laughs Rising Overview
The Batman Who Laughs Rising is a cooperative dice-rolling game where players control teams of heroes from the DC multiverse. The objective of the players is to defeat The Batman Who Laughs before they are defeated themselves.
On each player’s turn, they’ll roll dice to recruit new heroes to their team, damage villains, activate abilities, and more. Each hero a player recruits to their team will improve their overall strength. Either through additional dice rolls, or special abilities. To help aid them, players can also find bonus tokens. These tokens are one-time use effects which can grant additional dice, or specific symbols as needed. They can also heal or damage, for that last minute hit.
But while the players are rolling dice to deal damage, the villains will be doing the same. Before each player’s turn, the villain dice are rolled which can damage heroes, and uncover more passive abilities, hindering the capabilities of the players.
As the game progresses, The Batman Who Laughs becomes stronger, but that’s necessary in order to be able to reach him in order to defeat him. Hopefully, by the time he shows himself, the players have built their own teams up enough that they will be able to stand strong against this twisted version of the dark knight.
Of course, taking the spotlight in this The Batman Who Laughs Rising is The Batman Who Laughs figure, which is set in the center of the play area. The game is great and exciting in its own right, but the genuinely fantastic figure that comes as part of the game, makes it a must-buy for fans.
