Warhammer 40K: The Unbeatable List – LVO 2025!
One list went all the way at the Las Vegas Open. Let’s take a look at who took home the crown – 40K’s latest Unbeatable List.
Hey I talk about the winning list from LVO 2025! Mark Hertel took it to the limit with the new Index Deathwatch and their Grotmas gift of rules. It is pretty awesome as Mark ran thru so many great players and just wrecked the table top with the other Black Armored Marines.
First the Top-8 finalists were full of Space Marines. But they were not all the same which is pretty dang awesome. You had the great Jack Harpster from Art of War piloting the new Grotmas Blood Angels detachment. The man of Balance Josh Richard’s throwing down with a Gladius Ultramarine force as well. Ben Neal that got second place was rocking a Vanguard Ultramarine detachment from a few meta shifts ago. It seems the new update to Marines and their Oath still didn’t help to deal with Mark Hertel’s Deathwatch list.
Here is his list – showing how Deathwatch is back on the menu. I bet will see a lot more of these armies show up as everyone likes getting those Xenos hating marines on the tabletop. It seems Marines are set up to shoot the crap out of you and having an army that can hit you really hard and teleport around the table a lot can do you wonders. Really I expect the ability to move units around and put out a crap ton of damaging firepower is how Mark just wrecked things.

Why Is The List Good?
Look at all those crazy weapons some of these units have a the ability to be amped up more than the normal Space Marines. Just check out those terminator units with 3 Cyclone Missile Launchers each and all the other high rate of fire options. Really I think just the ability to move and set up as you need to with Site-to-Site Teleportation stratagem for 1 CP seems pretty amazing if you ask me.
Still it is awesome to see an army that went away and got given back do so well. A big congratulations to Mark for winning the whole thing and just playing a crap ton of 40K games. It ended up being 10 games of 40K which is a feat in itself. Congrats to everyone else and all the people I got to see again up in Vegas. I saw a ton of friends I really only chat with on a Discord server or thru messages. Also look at the crazy Skari taking his Drukhari to the limit and almost getting to the end. He truly is an Archon.
Thanks again to FLG for letting me play the event and just putting on the biggest 40K show out there. I love competitive 40K and while I think there are some issues with 10th it is still the best version we have had since I have been playing this game. I went 4-2 with my non Angron World Eaters I am pretty happy with that. I met a lot of cool new people and had 6 excellent games. Shout out to Bailey, Benjamin, Robert, Jonathan, Ethan, and Jeremy for being great opponents. I made some new friends and gave out a ton of stickers – even to some TSA agents.
Everyone give it up for Mark! Well done sir, BRAVO!
