Warhammer 40K: Welcome To 2025 – Here’s What’s Coming
I can’t believe it’s 2025. So what’s on the way for Warhammer 40,000 in the new year? Here’s what we know so far.
It’s been a good, long holiday but we’re back. But where exactly are we at with Warhammer 40,000? Between the holiday boxes and all the holiday activities I’m trying to get by feet back under me. So what can we expect in Warhammer-land for 2025?
Warhammer 40,000 in 2025… So far
Above is the Roadmap we got from Games Workshop. We’re firmly in 2025 territory now. First up, we’ve got Astra Militarum on the way. Specifically the Death Korps of Krieg.
There’s a TON of cool miniatures coming for the Death Korps line. Personally, I’m looking forward to those “Big Gun” kits. I think they make for excellent diorama bait. I can’t wait to see what the community does with them.
Again, there’s loads of great miniatures coming to the range. While I don’t have a new AM army planned for 2025, it’s been a very tempting option. Anyhow, they are due up first for Warhammer 40,000 in 2025.
Aeldari Arise
We got a ton of awesome previews for the Aeldari range. It’s all aspect warriors, all the time.
Personally, I’m stoked to see the new Warp Spiders and their Phoenix Lord finally arrive. I’m also a fan of Asurmen, too! Eh, who am I kidding? I like all the updates across the board.
Here’s a quick look at most of the Aspect Warriors and their related Phoenix Lords if you need a refresher. Since that article, we’ve now gotten even more plastic previews and 2025 is looking like quite the exciting time to be a Craftworld Aeldari player.
What we can also confirm is that the Aeldari are coming after the Astra Militarum. At least according to the roadmap.
Imperial Knights?
Unfortunately, we don’t have much info about the Imperial Knights. At this point it’s mostly conjecture as to what they are going to get. Besides a Codex, I’m wondering what GW could possibly add to the army. We’ll have to wait for more info on them. But in the meantime…
Chaos Rising
Games Workshop’s big Christmas reveal was for the Daemon Prince Primarch Fulgrim. We knew the Emperor’s Children were slated for a 2025 release as well. But I’m not sure how long we’re going to have to wait for them to actually arrive. If this is like the Adepta Sororitas preview, that took almost a full year to arrive. And GW seems to be slow-rolling the Emperor’s Children teasers, too.
That said, I would like to call out one thing that could be a sign of things to come. Did anyone else notice what 40k miniatures won 1st place from GW’s vote for Miniature of the Year for 2024? The fans voted. And look who won:
The people voted for what was basically an upgraded version of the Chaos Space Marine Legionaries. Now, I’m not complaining! I’ve been saying for a while that GW needs to do this for ALL the other Chaos Marine Legions.
With the Emperor’s Children coming in 2025, I think it might be a safe bet to assume they might get an awesome CSM Kill Team upgrade-style kit or two. I’m looking forward to that. And I’m hoping GW takes a hint and makes more CSM Kill Teams for the other Traitor Legions.
That’s all we know for sure about 2025. Hopefully GW starts firing up the news next week. Here comes the grimdark, baby!
