Finally, the ultimate RPG system for living your quirky medieval British fantasy has a release date. The game raised an impressive $1.9 million on Kickstarter. After a delay in the shipping date, fans can finally snag the base rulebook and a 61-piece set on March 5th.
The Monty Python RPG Will Taunt You a Second Time
Officially titled Monty Python’s Cocurricular Mediaevel Reenactment Programme, the game features ready-to-run adventures, character creation, a tome of beasts, and spam. Don’t let its medieval theme fool you—the game draws on the comedy troupe’s entire catalog. It also features a rules-lite gaming system, so it’s ideal for playing with pals.
Monty Python’s Cocurricular Mediaeval Reenactment Programme is a rigorous course of study intended only for serious students of English History. It is by no means a complete and comprehensive manual for running imaginative, highly unpredictable, Mediaeval-themed role-playing games based upon the complete comedic output of Monty Python with one’s friends.

There’s also a backgammon-like minigame called Fetchez la Vache! which may or may not involve some French taunting.
“Seems like no matter how grim and serious your Medieval role-playing game is meant to be, somebody’s going to propose the building of a Trojan rabbit, mention unladen swallows, or shrug off incoming damage as ‘only a flesh wound’,” said Brian Saliba, founder of Crowbar Creative. “It’s almost inevitable: Death, taxes, and RPG Pythonification.”
