D&D: The World’s Largest Dungeon is Back 20 Years Later & Ready For 5E
A blast from the past this week, as The Worlds Largest Dungeon returns after twenty years with a fresh coat of paint and a rules update.
Back in 2004, a behemoth of a campaign book, The World’s Largest Dungeon, set a record in the Guinness Book with its megadungeon of “unprecedented size and scope.” It was a vast, interconnected dungeon complex that was a world unto itself. Factions, civilizations, whole different tiers of play could all be found within. Truly a one-stop shop.
Now, after more than twenty years, the beast is back. With an updated Platinum Edition that not only revamps the dungeon, but reimagines it for 5th Edition D&D. It’ll be coming to BackerKit with a crowdfunding campaign that promises new miniatures, new maps, and even expanded adventures.
So The World’s Largest Dungeon is about to get even bigger.

It’s interesting to see this book back in action. There was a time when BoLS’ own Abe Apfel ended up with a copy of the book that haunted him at every turn. When I say it was big, I mean it was inconveniently big. It was so heavy and took up so much space you couldn’t just idly carry it around. You had to let it take up space.
Which might sound daunting—but if you want a campaign that will last you for literal years, the World’s Largest Dungeon may well be the megadungeon of your dreams. Because it was built back in the heyday of 3rd Edition, when dungeons were meant to be chewed on, like some kind of tough jerky.
Now the book is back, after World’s Largest RPGs (the company behind this) secured the old titles from AEG in order to update and reissue them. Here’s a taste of what you can expect.
