Bricklink Series 7 has opened voting to pick the next limited sets. Cast your vote for a medieval castle, pirate ship, cozy garden, spaceship, and dozens more.

The Bricklink designer program is a relatively new addition to the LEGO lineup. It is, in essence, a way for some very cool fan-made sets to get turned into official but limited releases. How it works is that for every series, there are about one every 3 months, and fans can submit designs. There are, of course, guidelines for what can be submitted. After the submissions are in, fans get to vote on their favorites.

Once voting is done, five sets will be picked to move forward. This is partially based on votes but not entirely. The sets are announced and then go through a refining process. Once they are ready, there is a crowdfunding period during which you can pre-order the sets. Each person is limited to no more than two sets, and the set needs 3,000 pre-orders to be made. A max of 30,000 of each set can be sold.

So far, every set has been funded, and almost all have sold out. They will ship out to the buyers six months after the set is funded. These are official LEGO releases, you buy then on the LEGO site and they come in real LEGO boxes, this isn’t some fan knock off. And right now, you can both vote for Bricklink Series 7 and buy some of the current approved sets.

Series 4 Is Crowdfunding Now

Right now, the five sets of Series 4 are in their crowdfunding phase. You can check them out here. You’ve got the Wild West Train, The Merchant Boat, The Medieval Seaside Market, The River Scholars, and The Siege Encampment.

The crowdfunding period runs for about another 2 weeks, so you have a little time. However, both the Seaside Market and Siege Encampment have already sold out (I had to jump on them in the first hours to get them!), and the train is getting close. All five sets have funded, so you don’t have to worry about that. If you are interested in any in this series I would snag it ASAP!

If you are looking for more, there is also good news! Series 7 is currently in its fan-voting period. There are currently 375 designs, but only five are going to get picked. Voting runs till Feb. 21st, so you’ve got about a week to check them out and make your mark.

It’s a pretty easy process and can help make sure that the set YOU like gets made. It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of LEGO castles. Bricklink has some great castle designs, such as the Brickwood Castle above and castle adjacent sets like The Squire. I’ve personally gotten castles from Series 1 and 3, and I’m just now ordering the castles stuff from Series 4. Series 7 has some pretty cool designs, but there is something for everyone. So if you don’t want it to be oops all castles, go vote!

A Few Designs I Like

In addition to the Brickwood castle, here are a few of the potential designs I think are pretty cool. I won’t tell you which ones I voted for.

Dustmark Keep – A cool castle.

Privateer Frigate Fortuna – Yesssss give some nautical stuff!

Hounds Keep – I love the colors on this castle.

The Royal Flagship – Another ship and a full 18 gun broadside? Sign me up!

Twin Peaks Lunar Outpost – It’s like a castle… IN SPACEEEEEEEE!

Bandit Camp At The Old Ruins – Can I get 4 to make a really big, unruined castle?

Queen Anne Victorian – What a cozy house. This is a set my wife would approve of!

Milwaukee Art Museum – A pretty cool architectural display piece.

The Blossom Painter – Just a really cute and cozy set. It would look really cool next to a castle.

Anyway, those are just a few of the cool sets (there are a lot more castles!), so go check them out and vote on what you like!
