In the Pathfinder NPC Core book, you’ll find rules enough for all your “Enemies to Lovers” dreams. Check it out.

Pathfinder has a new big splatook coming out in March, and this one is for all you fanfiction sickos out there. Sure, the NPC Core is technically all about NPCs of all stripes. And it’s a handy guide for any GM looking to add some depth to their roleplay, and to find new ways to bring their worlds to life. All that is true.

But it is also true that this book has rules that include a numerical scale for how much an NPC loves or hates your character. And there are guidelines for tracking the relationships as they change. Meaning you can have a recurring NPC that feels “vindictive” eventually become “bonded” to a PC. Perhaps after they have been caught in the rain, and have to sleep in an inn, but oops there’s only one bed. And for some contrived reason, they have to share it.

Or maybe one has to care for the other after a wound too serious even for magical healing. Look, I’m not here to judge anyone’s search history, just to say that this new book might enable you.

Pathfinder NPC Core – Pre-Order Now

This isn’t just the fanfic sourcebook though. There are plenty of guidelines for deepening the presence of NPCs in your world. Whether you want some quick tables to generate up some NPCs, or if you’re looking for new stat blocks for enemies, lovers, rivals, and whoever else, you’ll find a ton of new NPC stat blocks as well. And for Pathfinder 2E especially, you always need more. The ones in the Bestiary only whet the appetite.

“Devotees of the gods, cunning mercenaries, fun-loving performers, crafty engineers, devious villains and more all have roles in your game with the Pathfinder NPC Core! Over 250 stat blocks for NPCs let you drop all kinds of characters into your game, from servants and farmers to masters of magic and martial arts. The NPCs are crafted to be fun and easy to use, with sets of adjustments to quickly change their ancestry, level, and more. You’ll also find a trove of NPCs specific to non-human ancestries, like a dwarf general, goblin get-gang, and kobold egg guardian. Each section of NPCs is themed, and includes lore, custom rules, and random tables to spice up your gameplay. Never find yourself making up statistics on the fly again—you can find everything you need in the Pathfinder NPC Core!”

Sometimes it’s just Enemies to Enemies, though.
