Star Wars: Shatterpoint – ‘Wisdom of the Council’ Unboxed & Up Close

The Wisdom of the Council brings all the Jedi you can handle in a single box for Star Wars: Shatterpoint.
Okay, maybe not ALL the Jedi. But still, there’s four of them in the box and it’s a great way to get the Force on your side. That said, Atomic Mass Games sent a review copy and we’re diving inside to see exactly what you can expect from this one.
Wisdom of the Council Squad Pack Unboxed
First up, just as you’d expect from AMG products, everything comes in it’s own plastic baggy. The plastic sprues and four bases are in one bag. The cards for running this Squad Pack are all located in the other. Speaking of the cards, you get four play sets – one for each supported language. Below you can see the three non-English versions.
I used the English versions for the rest of the pictures. If you’re looking for a longer breakdown of the Squad and their abilities I did that in a previous article.
Note: Jedi Master Ki-Adi-Mundi’s combat stance card is double sided. I used two different cards to show both sides.
As far as the plastic sprues go it’s a pretty simple setup. All the Jedi are on a single sprue and the bases are on a second sprue.
It’s a fairly clean kit sprue. By that I mean the lines are crisp, the details are sharp, and it just all fits together really well. It doesn’t feel super cluttered. But that’s most likely because these are all single pose miniatures. But for Star Wars: Shatterpoint that’s perfect as you can’t really run multiples of the same character anyhow. The one exception to this is the Padawan Learners. One of them can be build from four different head options. So there’s at least a little bit of variety there.
Wisdom of the Council Up Close
Miniature-wise, I like the way these turned out. I also want to point out that they all go together pretty quick — these aren’t super complex miniatures to build. The sprue actually has all the parts labeled A,B,C,D with numbers. All I did was clip out all the corresponding letter parts, clean those with a hobby knife, and then dry-fit them. It took less than an hour for me to build all four of them.
Of the four, I do think that Jedi Master Shaak Ti steals the show. She’s got the most interesting look with her robes and lekku (that is the name of the appendages protruding from a Twi’leks’ skulls). I also liked that one of the Padawan Learners is mimicking Jedi Master Ki-Adi-Mundi’s stance.
The Wisdom of the Council Squad Pack is already out and in stores. You can order it online directly or swing by your FLGS to score a box of your own.
