Warhammer Next Week – High Elves Set Sail
Next week, the High Elves of the Old World set off from the shores of Ulthuan to a pre-order near you. Check them out!
Next week’s pre-orders feature the pointy-helmeted High Elves of the Old World. With a brand new Arcane Journal, several new miniatures, and more than a few big beasts, they’re looking pretty solid.
Of course, they are the elfiest of the elves. So that’s to be expected. You can also find some made to order terrain for Warhammer 40K, if you’ve been needing more trenches, embankments, bunkers, and other things from which to hold the line.
High Elves Of The Old World
These are the high elves your mother warned you about. If she warned you about the forces of Ulthuan, that is. And if she did, well, you’ve got a cool mom. Or she’s secretly a dwarf. That’s kinda on you to figure it out.
Either way, High Elves are the order of the day when it comes to next week’s pre-orders. Yes, the Old World High Elves takke center stage with a new Arcane Journal, pictured above. Inside you’ll find all the rules, lore, and scenarios you need to play as the High Elves of Ulthuan. You’ll find rules for charactersli ke Korhil Lionmane and Ishaya Vess as well as two armies of Infamy: the Chracian Warhost and Sea Guard Garrison.
Of course, if you’re starting a new Old World army, like the High Elves, you’ll probably want a battalion box. And next week, you can pre-order one. In the High Elf battalion box you’ll find 32 spearmen, 32 archers, as well as two Tiranoc Chariots (or Lion Chariots of Chrace).
Or cut right to the Chrace with the new Lord of Chrace. This High Elf Lord can be a special character or just a regular guy in as much as a High Elf with a two handed axe is a regular anything.
Ishaya Vess, Sentinel of the Silent Isle represents some of the finest sea-guardians the High Elves have to offer. She can command Lothern Sea Guard, and wields the trident Mathlann’s Ire.
Of course, these wouldn’t be High Elves if they didn’t have Dragons. Nobody tell Prince Imrik, though. The Dragons of Ulthuan have some frightful new rules, and this miniature can be built as a High Elf Lord or Archmage on Moon Dragon or Star Dragon, or as a Dragon Mage on Sun Dragon.
The Ellyrian Reavers, on the other hand, are swift and deadly cavalry. If you need a flank to evaporate, these guys are your elves.
Send in the Swordmasters of Hoeth when you need to cleave through your enemy lines, with a unit of 30-strong swordmasters (or two units of 15).
Get in there with the White Lions of Chrace to hew through even the heaviest of infantry. You get twenty White Lions in one kit.
Back up your Elven Infanty with powerful artillery in the form of High Elf Eagle-Claw Bolt Throwers. These elegant ballistae are refined and precise, but most importantly, deadly upon impact. Everything you want in a heavy ranged weapon.
Or pick up some classic returning miniatures, like Korhil Lionmane or the Handmaiden of the Everqueen. If that doesn’t stir up your nostalgia, perhaps the Great Eagle will?
Of course you may want to watch out for the powerful Merwyrm. Thes are basically sea dragons, and they look absolutely terrifying. Field one today! Well, once they ship from being up for pre-order, that is.
Made to Order 40K Terrain
As mentioned, you can get your hands on some major defensive terrain, made to order, in the coming weeks. The MtO window opens February 15th-23rd and lets you pick from Imperial Bastion, Imperial Bunker, Imperial Defence Emplacement, and Imperial Defence Line.
