Warhammer: The Old World – Arcane Frogs Hop Into The Action
Forget a counterspell. Just turn the enemy wizard into a frog with this scroll and bring the right miniature to back it up in Warhammer: The Old World.
This is an oldie but goodie. If you’re having issues with enemy wizards on the tabletop battlefields of Warhammer: The Old World here’s a tip from the Core Rules. Just use a Scroll of Transmogrification. And if you do, then GW’s got a few arcane frogs for you to use, too…
The battlefields of the Old World abound with spells, incantations and other assorted arcana, as wizards, shamans and daemon-worshippers let loose with their fearsome and unnatural powers.
Some of these spells sharpen the blades or bolster the resolve of the troops around them, while others conjure howling vortexes or blazing missiles. And some… turn you into a frog.
Arcane Frogs in Warhammer The Old World
Again, this isn’t exactly a new solution. But those Arcane Frogs are new! They are coming to the tabletop in Forge World Resin soon enough.
This will also be a two pack so you’ll get both of the Arcane Frog sculpts in one box. Perfect for converting your enemies to friends. Or at least into Frogs. I also think it’s a bit silly that GW included that bit about how the enemy wizard still retains a love of water. It’s probably just a cheeky nod to the spell as it obviously has no in game application.
In any case, more frogs is more fun. Unless you’re the enemy wizard that’s been turned into one. Then I guess you better roll well and get that 4+ to turn back to normal.
I also wonder if this is really an effective use of 50 points. The math says its more effective on lower level wizards. Ideally, it also seems like you’d want to nail a wizard with this and then attack them while they are feeling froggy. All their stats are 1s (excluding wounds) so in theory they should be pretty easy pickings.
