Games Workshop is hosting their AdeptiCon 2025 Preview for Age of Sigmar. Here’s what I’m expecting to see at the show.

When it comes to Age of Sigmar and the AdeptiCon 2025 Preview I don’t have any wild expectations. I’m going to have to stick to the basics here and go with what I saw from the roadmap. While we might get some cool announcements I’m guessing they are going to be in reference to the upcoming armies on the docket.

Rise of the Spirits

With the Soulblight Gravelords around the corner and an upcoming Army Set which we saw at the last preview, I’m expecting a shift to the future releases. That means Idoneth Deepkin and Nighthaunt. I’ll start with the Nighthaunt because we’ve already gotten a few teasers about them anyways.

The upcoming Nexus of Grief faction terrain for Nighthaunt.

Honestly the Nighthaunt army already has a really solid range of miniatures. They’ve consistently gotten a character or two every update and they’ve also gotten attention in the lore as well. Not that I mind — I actually do have a Nighthaunt army. So for me personally, sure! Bring on more ghosts! That said, I’m not sure what direction they go next with them. I’d like to see another “big” kit for them as they already have Nagash and the Black Coach. They also have a quite a few characters, too. Considering they are getting faction terrain and they already have manifestations, I’m not sure what else the range is missing.

The Idoneth Deepkin aren’t quite in the same boat. While they do have a lot of the foundational units covered in their range I think they could use some love. I could see them getting a new named character or even another couple “generic” ones to round things out. They do technically have faction terrain but they don’t have manifestations. That seems to be the theme this go around for the armies so that’s a possibility for expansion for them, too.

Blood, Gore, and (Aether) Gold

As far as the “on the horizon” releases we now know what those factions are. We’ve got the Blades of Khorne, The Kharadron Overlords, and the Flesh-eater Courts on the way. So I wouldn’t be shocked if we saw news of these pop-up, too.

With all the daemons going away in 40k, I’m curious if they are going to find they way out of the AoS codexes or if they are going to stick around. I’m not entirely sure what GW’s plan is with all that. That said, BoK already has a terrain piece as well as manifestiations. They have a pretty good range of miniatures, too. This is another case of “I’m not sure what they add here” for this army.

As far as the KO armies floating around they have neither a faction terrain piece or a manifestations. That said this is an army that doesn’t really lend itself to either of those things. They don’t really do the whole “magic” thing. And for an army of Sky-pirates, I’m not really sure a terrain features makes sense either. I’m at a loss for what GW could do besides add more units. What sorts of units? That I’m not entirely sure about. If you’re a KO player let me know in the comments what you think this army could really use.

I really don’t think we’re going to get much info on the Flesh-eater Courts for this AdeptiCon preview. That said, I’d love to know what’s cooking for them. They have a terrain feature and manifestations. They have a cool “big guy” character. And they’ve even gotten some new units recently. I do wonder if the new Zombie Dragon for the Soulblight is going to have an impact on their Terrorgheist kits.

The Future of AoS

During the AdeptiCon preview, I hope we get some answers about this image. I don’t know if GW is going to give us more of the image or just show it in full. Either way, I’m good with that! I like the teaser. But I’m also still not sure what we saw to being with. I know it’s supposed to be interpreted as eyes But I’m not  entirely sure that’s what we are seeing. Either way, this was a cool teaser and I hope we get more like this.

What are you hoping to see at the AdeptiCon 2025 Warhammer Preview for Age of Sigmar?
